I have to check by blood pressure once every day. I have knowledge on how to take it manually. But I'm only able to measure it on someone else. I can get the cuff on easy but the pump, gauge, stethoscope is my problem. I cant do it electronically because it always hurts and raises my bp so its a waste of time. Are there any kits that allows self measuring I have tried built-in stethoscope ones but the cuffs D-ring warped on me like the 4th day I got it. Is there a cuff or a better set up for it. Because I have tried other sources and one said tape your stethoscope to your arm I highly doubted it would work but I tired and failed. I have no like RN or any degrees but I need to be able to check it because my doctor wants it done please and thanks. I bought this cuff at rite aid I have the cuff but don't know if I can post pictures of it. I don't know if I could of got something better why I'm asking.

Slip this the stethoscope under the cuff, prior to inflate

Okay wow I never thought of that but now the gauge. I have no where to put it I usually just place it in hand which has the cuff where my measurement arm is being used. But I notice it elevates the bp any ideas on that also thanks for replying I only know basic vitals.

Question does anyone recommend any cuffs that are fashion or should I just use just regular cuffs because I've seen some actually unique looking ones like camo. Also is there a such thing as a certain cuff being less tight because I've been to offices that use ADC,welch allyn and other companies I've noticed that some cuffs even though same size like adult medium or size 11 but there both considered same size. but there like more bigger, longer. does size of cuff make a difference in measurement and comfort just wondering because my cuff is not comfortable at all. My measureing skills my doctor told me are very good because I showed my doctor how I do it because I used to take it by someone holding the stethoscope on my arm but struggled when the person who would hold it told me I'm on my own. Until sallyrnrrt told me about putting stethoscope under cuff.

We cannot give you medical advice, including advice as to how to take your own blood pressure.

Please go to your local drugstore and ask the pharmacist for a recommendation for a reputable automatic BP monitor.

Dose anyone have a cuff recommendation like a brand or something. Also I have noticed other cuffs have the same size 11 medium but are like longer does that affect measurement like ADC has longer cuffs but Omron is shorter. Because my cuff is not very comfortable I Want to get a different one but I don't know what I should get that's why I'm asking for a recommendation. sallyrnrrt ill try your stethoscope recommendation because I want to measure being comfortable. plus not being comfortable my Velcro is failing and my stethoscope is not hearable anymore note this is a 10$ cheap kit so that's why it is failing.

I already know how to measure it I'm not asking for how to measure it I'm asking for solo tips on how to get a proper reading like the stethoscope tip sallyrnrrt gave me. Not telling me how to do it but a tip to make it work better all I want is tips on self measurement if I cant ask tips then can I at least get a equipment recommendation for self measurement. Plus I cant do electronic it always hurts me and just ruins reading.

No. Just no. You need to see a medical professional for help.

You say you have to check your blood pressure every day, is this because your medical provider requested you do this? If so, your medical provider should recommend what kind of equipment you should be using. If you are doing this without your health care provider's advice, you should not be doing it at all. Talk to your health care provider about what he or she wants you to use and why.

Hello,

As pointed out, we cannot provide the personal medical advice you seek per our Terms of Service; this includes advising how to take your own pressure and/or suggesting what equipment to use. You really need to pose all of your questions and concerns to your healthcare provider just like you have done here. He or she will be able to suggest what you need for equipment and either show you how to measure your own blood pressure or set up something where you can learn how to do it properly.

Good luck and we wish you well.
