is it a good thing to take a medical terminology class before nursing classes?

I would like to know if it is best to take a class in medical terminology before applying to nursing school?

I never took a medical terminology course. Everything I needed was taught in my nursing courses. For those we ran across that we didn't know, we had a medical dictionary to look them up. We were actually required to purchase Tabers medical dictionary as part of our assigned book package.

I don't think it will hurt, I took the course for a blow off credit and did really like it. It's an easy peasy breakdown of terms/definitions that will help familiarize yourself during nursing school and as a new nurse, especially with surgical procedures.

I agree. I took this course because I want to stimulate my brain a little bit and it really did help me to freshen up on terminologies. Although it's not a requirement, but it's all worth it.
