:nurse: i need a volunteer(s). i am doing a pre-requisite for nursing school (philosophy: ethics). i am to do a research interview on nurses who have had an ethical issue at work. since i don't know any nurses personally, i chose to come here.

you may remain anonymous as well as the name of employer. as far as the employer, i need to know if it is(was) a hospital, nursing home, home health, etc. will you please help?

your participation is greatly appreciated!

please answer the following questions...

1) can you tell me about a difficult ethical problem that you faced as a professional in your work place? what was the situation when it occurred? please explain what happened.

2) what in this experience was the most difficult for you?

3) what did you consider in trying to decide what was the right thing to do? for example: was it loyalty, honesty, personal gain, personal relationships, the law, the consequences of specifications or policies?

4) what else did you think about?

a) did you take anything else into account?

b) did your professions code of ethics help in the decision process?

c) was there anything else weighed in trying to resolve this moral conflict?

5) when you look back on it, how do you evaluate your reasoning process in response to this ethical problem?

a) are there things you wish you had taken into account that you didn't consider at the time?

b) would you have acted any differently?

6) do you think other professionals would have acted in the same way?

since you are a pre nursing student. How about going to the nursing office/department, pull one of the instructors aside, since they must be nurses to teach in a nursing program, and tell them you need to INTERVIEW him/her for a paper you are doing. if they cannot do it then, they can give you a time, maybe meet them in their office. i dont think any of the nurses here will answer your questions, put a little effort into it. the assignment states INTERVIEW, that is 1 on 1 conversation. im not trying to be rude, just stating the facts.

I don't think that was very nice.

OP, someone will help you. I will help you maybe tomorrow but right now it's midnight where I am at and I am too tired. If you don't get a taker by the AM I can do it.

I don't see why an interview needs to be in person in the digital age.

I wouldn't ask a nursing instructor. They have enough students to deal with as it is -- I think it is wise to look elsewhere for help.

Thank You Very Much, Opensesame!

I didn't go to a nursing instructor because they ARE so busy and it doesn't have to be an "in person" research interview. It just has to be in my field, which is nursing.

Again, Thanks!!

i didnt say an interview has to be in person, if you are a nurse you should already know this, please read my reply, i stated 1 on 1, this can be through chat, phone, text message etc. you need to ask the question and get a response hence an INTERVIEW. posting the assignment here makes it a questionnaire. i did an assignment like this in the nursing program and it didnt take me no more than 5 mins to get all the answers from A NURSING INSTRUCTOR, and i pretty much think it helped me get into the program because during interviews she recognized me in an instant. Half of the students in this site are constantly dropping assignments in the hopes that someone will fill it up for them and it will be a matter of just copying and pasting.
