Hi. I was wondering what your hospitals policy is on snowdays? Ours doesn't have one and I live 1 1/2 hours from work. The highway was actually closed and I was still expected to come in?... Read More

When a storm is coming I get my bag packed and I leave early for work. If it storms during the night. I call them tell them Ill be there when I get there. I try not to call in. But I WILL NOT drive in ice/sleet. It is unsafe and I value my life a heck of alot more than my employeer.

Why would you expect your employer to pay for your cab instead of paying for it yourself?

I would expect to be reimbursed. If I can't make it in my own personal car...then I could call a cab... As I posted, it's the VERY LEAST they can do for my showing up when so many others did not. And my hospital does just that, they respect their employees who make sacrifices. They know that "that's the way it SHOULD be," so they do the right thing.
