Been a nurse for 15 years and usually love what I am doing. 7 full time positions so far and 6 casuals during my career. I have worked med-surg, ICU, CCU, neuro, trauma, telemetry, agency critical care, ER, PHRN specialty flight team, RN/paramedic air ambulance, county mental health clinic, critical care travel, geriatrics, dementia and private duty.
Feb 17, '07Joined: Feb '03; Posts: 124; Likes: 2When I graduated from nursing school I went to a med/surg floor =1. I hated that job, would cry on the way to work sometime. It was just overwhelming. responsibility that a nurse has was just too much for me.
Went to Endoscopy = Other than the nasty docs, and how far it was from my home, I'd give it a 7.
Now I'm a Diabetes Educator (working on certification) and I'd give it a 9.
I still go back to that med/surg floor two fridays per month, but it's much easier to take now. Still don't like to go, but love the extra moolah.
