How many interviews to schedule?

So, this last week I applied to about eleven jobs. Seven have called back, requesting an interview, and I've managed to schedule three. What I'm wondering is...how many of these jobs should I respond to? Should I go on all seven interviews if I'm able to make it work with my current work schedule (I work 72 hours a pay period, so it's hard to fit anything extra in)? Or should I limit it to only a few? I obviously don't have any job offers right now, so would it be beneficial to look at all of them?

The more jobs you interview for, the better your chances of being offered a position. However, I would try to schedule they all within a 2-3 week period so if you are offered more than one job, you can weigh your options to make an informed decision. Try to fit as many into your schedule as you can (perhaps use sick leave or PTO to free up a couple extra days), but if you can't make them all, give preference to the jobs you're most interested in.

At some places they are one in the same; however, I wouldn't advise "calling out" to go to these interviews, which is essentially what dishes is saying here.

I would go to as many as possible. One caveat... I had four interviews in one day once (three were for the same job, back to back to back!) and I wanted to shoot myself, so please be careful with interview burnout.

PTO is there for whatever you need it for. Legally employers cannot ask why you are using a "call out" if you have slotted PTO. Provided the OP has time to use, if she needs a day off to attend an interview that's her right. Clearly, having applied to 11 other jobs, the OP has no intention on remaining in her current position for that much longer. She may as well use PTO while she can.

While it is true that PTO can be used for whatever we choose, it is very hard to get PTO in my area with short notice. We are already short-staffed. Sometimes, we do not know until the day of whether or not we have the day off. Otherwise, we have to schedule it months in advance, which obviously doesn't work for interviews. Also, although I have applied to many other jobs, I plan on remaining in my current position for at least a year. I am looking for a part time position to work in addition to the job I already have.
