How do you get hired as a Phlebotomist with no experience?

  1. I live in Michigan and all the employers want you to have at least one year of experience. But how can you get experience if you can't get a job?

Sometimes you have to go to where they're desperate enough for people that they're willing to take a chance on someone with no experience. And as far as promises, they're only as good as the people (or institutions) making them. Ignore the enthusiastic shouting and read the fine print. That's where the real "promises" are.

What about the Red Cross when they do blood drives? I have no experience with them. It's just a thought.

What about urgent care or a doctor's office? Apply anyway they may work with you.

Apply anyway. Hospitals and doctor's offices and independent testing labs. Be persistent until you get a call. Especially for doctor's offices, go in person to drop off your resume, wear clothes that you would wear to an interview, and be pleasant. Put your resume in an envelope with a cover letter addressed to the office manager (call ahead a different day and kindly ask who the office manager). Ask the office receptionist to give it to the office manager. Be persistent.
