HELP!

Nurses General Nursing

Hi everyone. I need some advice. I have an interview coming up at health south and the recruiter told me that i have to take an RN test. First Ive been out of school for 2 years now and I haven't worked as a nurse. Second I don't do well on tests, my nerves alone will cause me to fail. My question to you is do you know what is usually on these type of tests. Any help would be nice. I just want to be prepared. Thanks in advance.

maybe brush up on dosage calculations and drugs.

I have a rehab HealthSouth facility by my house...if it is rehab I would start to look over pain meds, dosages, Hippa, med math, wounds, etc. Prioritizing care may be included. I struggle with anxiety too...email or let the recruiter know ahead of time. Ask for extra time and a private test location (ex: empty office) so you do not feel rushed. When you begin the test, just sit for 5 minutes to gather your thoughts. You will do fine! Compared to some of the tests in nursing school and NCLEX, you will do great :)

Thanks. Do yall know anyone who works there that could give some insight about the facility.

Sorry, I wish I knew more for you-I do not know anyone that works there. I know they are a for-profit facility so customer service is huge. I would emphasize the "customer service" focus of providing quality nursing care. Good luck!

You actually have to take a test AT the interview? For every position I've had, I had to take a drug test and for one position I had to take a test on the policies for hanging blood products, but these were always during orientation, not the interview (and if you didn't pass you got another shot at them). Either way, I don't think it is fair for him/her to merely say you have to take an "RN test." They should at least give you some idea of what in entails, before throwing you into it.

I dont mind taking the test. Some hospitals give you a test before they offer you the job. Its just that Ive been out of school for a while so I wanted to brush up on the material. I really need this job.
