Nurses General Nursing

Im seeking for someone that will be able to place me on the correct track. Just recently I graduated from UMET University of Puerto Rico as RN.

Just three weeks ago I relocated to Massachusetts which have very strict guide lines pertaining Colleges and Universities outside the States.

Does anyone have any information on accredited schools or if I just wasted 4 years of my life in an education thats not valid within the States?

Specializes in Registered Nurse.

I have come across some coworkers that travel out of state to get into a nursing program. The programs in state are so saturated with students that some interested candidates go out of state if they cannot get into a program. I kept in touch with one of them and they were able to return and test for their license.

I don't see why you cannot practice if you are able to pass the nursing board exam. Is there a restriction on testing based on the fact you attended a school that is possibly not accredited?

Puerto Rico is a US territory so maybe it will not be an issue. My suggestion is to call the Massachuets nursing board and get your questions answered. I know my coworkers that were educated in the Phillipines have all been able to practice after the testing and taking NCLEX. Good luck.
