[color=gray]okay, here is a little history of my situation. i graduated lpn school in may of 2006. i took my state boards a couple of times and failed. so i took a long break. i recently decided to go back and take my boards again. oct 9, 2009 and i passed!! so i am so glad to say that i am a lpn as of 10-09-09. now i am looking for an lpn job in an outpatient clinic. i am really nervous about it b/c i have been out of school since 06. also i am nervous about my interview. do you guys have any advice? i mean i'm scared that i have forgotten things or what if i don't know everything about everything i need to know??? i am just too scared and nervous but, i really want to pursue my nursing dream even more then ever now b/c i just recently passed my boards. what do you guys think? any advice/encouragement would be greatly appreciated!!! thanks in advance! :heartbeat

Hey Brandi124,

First and foremost let me say congratulations. I know that was a great feeling. I know you are little nervous but you are ready especially if you passed the test. Im sure you will be placed around people that are willing to help you out as well. My advice for the interview is be confident and dress to impress. When you wear something nice it makes you feel great. Sell yourself and ask plenty of questions to show your interest.:yeah:

WooooHoooo!!! Congrats to you! :clpty:

Great job! Congratulations on passing the boards! I know what a great feeling that is. You might want to buy a nursing nclex book and do some review until you feel more confident, but i am sure you will be fine. You just need to show confidence and never forget that there is no question that some one wont help you find the answer if you only ask.

Congradulations!! I passed my boards in Feb of this year. I was too afraid to get an LPN job and actually worked as a PSS until June!! Then a friend of mine talked me into applying where she worked. A JAIL! I got hired and started in August. I could not be Happier! Moral of the story..... Get out there and put your education to good use! there are still times I feel Like i can't do it but my coworkers help and noone ever calls you stupid! it is part of the learning process so Good Luck to you!!

Thanks so much jailhouserock_lpn_08! I guess I feel even more nervous b/c I graduated school in 06 and haven't had any more experience since then. Now that I passed I really want to jump into it. One thing I am scared about is people thinking I am stupid or thinking I am not fit for the job. So Thanks so much for this encouragement!! It means a lot to hear positive things during such a nerve racking time. Everyone has to start somewhere right?!

Thanks, nunnurse1! You are right!! I need to show confidence and stop doubting myself b/c that just makes it harder on me when I doubt myself. I think that's the biggest problem with me. I lack the confidence. I wish I didn't. I am going to put an end to that right now!! Thanks a lot!! :) I'll keep you guys posted!

Ruach Ha-kodesh, Thanks so much!! I still feel like I am on cloud nine from passing boards. I am so glad I have that behind me... now my next step is the job thing. Thanks for the encouragement!! I too agree that I will probably be around people who are willing to help. I think it's just the whole lack of confidence thing that's bothering me. Which... starting now I am throwing the lack of out the door. I can do this and will do this!! :) Thanks so much for the advice for the interview!! Helps calm my nerves to know that I have people rooting for me!!

Thanks again!! :)
