Draining own elbow bursitis/ knee fluid/ ear cauliflower

Hi there guys, I'm a newly graduated nurse and lately I've injured my arm and got an xray. It says that I have mild bursitis on my right elbow. I was youtubing how to treat it and I see people aspirating the fluid themselves. I told my co worker about it and they thought I was stupid and that doing this is dangerous. Can anyone help me rationalize. From what I see if I clean the site with alcohol pad and use a new needle what can really happen. Septicemia shouldn't happen if I make sure my needle doesn't touch anything but my skin and that I don't poke twice with the same needle.

So am I stupid or are these other nurses just super worried.

Thank you

Seriously? Invasive procedures you are unqualified to perform learned via you tube?

I envision amputaion secondary to gangrene or other necrotizing condition only because I've seen the outcome first hand with self inflicted invasive treatment & self-tattoos.

i suggest you go to bed and come back and read what you wrote
