Does anyone work on this floor at a VA hosp. or know what kind of floor is this? Is it like a nursing home? I was told "kind of" It is a mixture of rehab, long term, pallative" So I'm basically looking for inputs from others possibly working on this specific floor. Thanks!

I currently work on a unit like you describe. It's a CLC. On my particular unit we have rehab, hospice, and long-term antibiotic therapy that can't go home. CLC can mean the unit I am on, or the nursing home. Which VA are you looking at?

Oh Thank you for replying! I am looking into at a position at the VA in Salem VA, they have a position on the "CLC 2-3" is what the position is posted as so I'm not sure which floor this is~I'm going to call this morning to find out just so I would know. Which Va hosp do you work out? Thanks again!!

I think my my va (I'm new) it is Alzheimers and rehab. They are supposed to be working hard at making it a place where they live since they are here for so long.

Which VA hospital are you at? What city, state? I called this morning & the HR lady told me it was rehab, pallative, long term, and although she didnt mention Alzheimers (although I love working w/ these special pts) she did say that they are working hard at making it like a home environment since they are there for so long. She mentioned that they are even trying to arrange some day trips for the patients. Now that is a caring facility! So from what you know and stated it sounds alot like the VA in Virginia, I'm curious where your working! Thanks for replying!
