Difficult to get student loan nowadays?

As a permanent resident of US, can I apply different kinds of student loans to pay for my accerelated BSN tuition? Some one said it's a little hard to get loan due to bad economy this or next year. Is that really true? I don't have enough deposits. I do rely on student loans to pay my tuition!

As a permanent resident you won't have any problems to get a student loan. If you will apply through the Financial Aid you will get the loan with any problems. I get $640 per quarter (I do not have to pay back) and I can take additional $9500 first year and in the second year $10500 (those I have to pay back :) ). Go to the Financial Office at your school. They will answer for all your questions :)

The loan you get is federal student loan or private loan? Is it enough to cover your cost?

Are you going to accerelated BSN program? My tuition is about $32000.

I've read about the student loan problem on various news sites. It sounds to be more of an issue for those who attend schools where financial aid doesn't cover tuition, and so private loans are needed. The current loan crisis is well documented, so I'd think from here, you'd need to look at your individual credit worthiness, etc. It's disheartening to read of students having to defer their junior, sometimes senior years of college just because of tuition, when they were eligible to get as far as they did. Very maddening. I'd just get out there and see what you can get. You never know till you try.

Is it for one year or two?

I get federal loans. This is enough to cover may tuition, books and other expenses.

I am not going to accelerated BSN program :) First I am doing ADN, then BSN and then CRNA

$30,000 is for 15 months. If you'll do ADN, federal loans might be enough. But you still will pay a lot for your BSN if you go for it full-time. CRNA is more expensive. It is said getting into communituny college for ADN is very competitive. I've not considered applying for ADN. But if I can't get private loans, federal loans are not enough to cover the BSN tuition. And I'm really worrird about it. Some body out there get through this situation?
