Credit For Previous Nursing Courses

Nurses General Nursing

I started an ASN program eight years ago with one semester left before I was to graduate. I had some personal issues and had to relocate to another state so I was not able to complete. I continued to work in the hospital. Now I want to complete my studies. I have contacted the school that I was enrolled in but they have since changed their curriculum and I would have to do everything over. Does anyone know of a program that would award me credits for what I have already done and life expierence so I can finally say that I am a RN!!! I would like to finish within a year. I am willing to go anywhere in the US and would like to start this fall of '08. Thanks.

A lot has changed in nursing in eight years. Heck, the NCLEX test plan is updated every 3 years. I don't know any specifics of what you could do but state your case to the nursing programs to which you apply. Good luck.

Specializes in LTC, wound care.

Be sure you check with graduates of the programs you are considering entering about how many students were not allowed to graduate becuase they didn't pass the HESI test just before the end of their program.

Some schools fail 50% or upwards of their students and do not allow them to graduate or test for NCLEX. BEWARE.
