Clinical Practice Policy- desperate!

Hi all- hoping for help with a school assignment. I need to get hold of a Clinical Practice Policy from a U.S. facility. I have EXHAUSTED google, clinical sites, all the library databases (EBSCO,etc). I am truly desperate at this point- instructor said to just surf the internet for it! Anyway- hoping one of you wonderful nurses might have an electronic copy you would be willing to PM me? Honestly, I've done the legwork, and just can't find one. Thanks!

Page not found | IV-Therapy.net into resources and tbe policies and procedures section and you will find msy samples there....do you see it and is this what you are looking for?

You mean to tell me your clinical site doesn't have clinical practice policies...

Those documents are not just on the internet. Most hospitals keep them for internal use only.

Having said that - of you are not working in healthcare, it may be difficult to find those. It is also nothing that you would just find in the library.

Generally speaking, there is a special format that you use to write a policy. After that, the policy goes through the process of getting approved, which can take some while.

You can find general information online or in textbooks that tells you the reason and such for developing P & P guidelines. Also, I do not think that anybody would just give you a copy of a P&P from their facility unless it is approved.

We aren't in Clinicals again until Sept, so not currently "in" with a site,otherwise it would have been my go to. We've also never been given them when we do have clinicals- in fact had a situation last semester where I wanted to see what policy was for a new skin tear, and none of the nurses knew where to find it.
