CEU's while in school?

I will be graduating nursing school next month. My school is giving us an opportunity to earn some CEU's this month. But will I be able to use the CEU's I earn while still in school for my licensure? Can CEU's even be accrued before I become licensed?

Best bet is to check with your BON, but I suspect that the answer is no. My state specifies that the hours may only be earned from the first day the license is valid (for me, it's Nov. 1) and the day it expires (for me, Oct. 31). Any hours outside of that time frame are ineligible. Any hours above the minimum requirement cannot be "banked" for future renewal periods.

Good to know. Thank you for the explanation!
