Business degree and BSN

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I currently work part time in a NICU and have almost 2 years of Mother/Baby experience. I am looking to find a second job but am having some difficulty. My experience is limited and I cannot find any PRN positions which I am qualified for in my area.

My undergraduate degree is in business administration and I have my BSN. Any ideas or recommendations on what I can do?

Thank you in advance!

It might be easier to seek another full time position and try to go per-diem at your current job after you've secured one.

My advice? Get certified before making a move - it adds a lot of value because it indicates both your clinical expertise & level of professionalism. Why not think outside the box? Look at the equipment suppliers you have worked with - they hire nurses to inservice products & train their sales force. You could move into case management for medically fragile infants. There are opportunities lurking out there - you just have to hunt them down.
