Nails must be short and no fake nails. Makeup is allowed as long as we don't go overboard.

I wear facial cosmetics such as loose powder, eyebrow pencil, lipstick, and concealing foundation. Makeup, therefore, is allowed at the facility where I'm employed as long as it doesn't become excessive. There are no rules against fingernail polish or false fingernails, but I choose to not wear them.

where I work, and area hospitals-makeup okay, fake nails okay as long as they aren't super long. I just keep mine looking best I can at a length where I won't scratch my patients. Use best judgment

Makeup in moderation is usually not a problem. But please... NO PERFUME!!
No smelly fabric softener, deodorant, cologne, hairspray, ect...

Nothing like a wiff of that stuff to make a nauseated patient PUKE.

Save it for the off days

Makeup okay as long as it's in moderation. No perfumes or heavy hair sprays. No fake nails of any length allowed, nail polish discouraged but allowed.

JCAHO actually has a ruling in place about false nails, they are not permitted for any reason. And please check with your Infection Control Dept on permitting of them, I think that you will be surprised with the answers that you will receive.

I would never, ever permit a nurse to care for me, or a family member that had on false nails. Too many infections.............
