I wear facial cosmetics such as loose powder, eyebrow pencil, lipstick, and concealing foundation. Makeup, therefore, is allowed at the facility where I'm employed as long as it doesn't become excessive. There are no rules against fingernail polish or false fingernails, but I choose to not wear them.
JCAHO actually has a ruling in place about false nails, they are not permitted for any reason. And please check with your Infection Control Dept on permitting of them, I think that you will be surprised with the answers that you will receive.
I would never, ever permit a nurse to care for me, or a family member that had on false nails. Too many infections.............

As a nurse, is makeup allowed? What about your nails, how should and should not be? ANy other rules?????
