ACLS class tomorrow

I am taking a 2-day acls weekend course. Question: what do I need to aspect in acls?

Know your algorithms & meds/dosages/max dosages (esp for epi, atropine, adenosine, amiodarone)

Know your EKG rhythms & what to do (cardiovert, defib, CPR)

Know your basic life support.

When asked priority questions - remember to do the least invasive first (you always want to assess your patient first!)

If you know the basics, you'll be fine....with the class I took, the instructor really helped us out.

So, you need to study before 2 day-ACLS class unlike BCLS class?

If so, do they send us study materials before class to study if you register or you just have to buy a book and study

by yourself?

If you're taking it through a college - they should have a book ready for you & insructor usually e-mails you what they want you to look over.

I took my ACLS class through an outside company & they sent me a study guide & I looked it over before class (but my class was one day only!)

Either way, you should have gotten the book by AHA. Start looking it over!

the instructor never sent me anything. However, I brought a small book about 3 months ago and that thing has helped me.

As far as I know, there's only one book (by the AHA) for ACLS. Maybe they'll go over their expectations on your first day. Good luck.

Actually, tomorrow is the final day of the course and I have to pass with an 84.

i am about to take acls and my instructor has given me a big thick book to look over, ekg strips and med info.....i have started a new job and have to get current.....good luck to you...i will be studying constantly until my class comes....
