A little question about soap and patients

Just a little question

A CNA told me that another one we work with doesn't rinse off soap from some parts of the patients to leave a nice smell... Especially the armpit and near the intimate ares

I know that rinsing the soap is the whoal point of using it and getting the dirts detached but even so I wonder how bad is this? I will approach this girl about this but I want to have lots of arguments because she's new etc... Thanks 🐣

Soap is not meant to remain on the skin. It can create rashes and irritation. In extreme situations it may lead to a localized allergic reaction.

I appreciate an announcement a new day nurse made the other day after I'd given MN shift report on geriatric psych. She told the Techs to encourage showers and assist with shaving.

In this situation, the new nurse could have added, "And make sure all the soap is rinsed off. We don't want want any rashes, irritations, or allergic reactions!"
