GCU 2014 Summer

Anybody else going to be applying? I'm a long shot because I'm applying without all my courses completed, they will be done in the Spring.

Did anyone else get an email from campus housing today? I don't need housing but the email said "thank you for registering for classes, you are now eligible for on campus housing". So does that mean that we have been registered in our nursing classes? I can't figure out how to log into the GCU portal yet to see if a class schedule has been posted. Anyone else been able to log in and see?

i did not get the housing email, but i got an email for upcoming events. our schedule should be up or up soon.. we need to get into loud cloud to see it. we should be able to get into the portal with the user name & pw that we originally used when applying to attend gcu (the first actual app done online). unfortunately that info is at home and i am at work.. so i will have to wait until tonight.. :/

So I was able to log into the portal and see that I have been registered for classes, but the class schedule is not done. It shows all 4 classes are scheduled on Monday from 7-7:05 am. I guess it will update when the actual class schedules are solidified. Has anyone been awarded financial aid yet? I submitted my FAFSA a month ago.. but I haven't been awarded yet. I had a mini-panic attack when I saw how much was due for tuition.

Your schedule is usually give in to you at orientation which is about a month before school starts. That's also when they give you your book list. If your not able to borrow or check out from a hosp you work for save up books are expensive. Shop and compare prices. Financial aide usually gets posted in sept if you have any left over you'll get it in oct. At least that's how is was when I went through.

bazzingagirl: i am going to the second; was trying for the first, but can not get out of work for it :( i will also have to leave a lil early, but was planning on getting there early. are you definitely going to the first? come to the second and meet me! lol :)

iculinda: i was told to buy the packages from a friend who started last month... i figured comparing and finding used on amazon would be cheaper, but my friend told me that isn't always the case and that there are sims labs included within the 1st package that we will use all 4 blocks.. do you know if we can get those separately? i have the list and have found a few on amazon.. my sister who graduated from gcu (rn to bsn) last year even had 1 or 2... what exactly did you do??

has anyone started to look into scholarships?! i realize most won't allow you to apply until we are officially in... any current or graduated students have any luck with any? and if so, if you got them, was it fairly easy to get it and update your fasfa??

We didn't use the Simms CDS we used ATI which had all the modules we needed. It was supplied by the school.
