Hello GCU summer applicants!

I figured someone else would have started a thread by now, but since they haven't I figured I would since the deadline is approaching in less than 2 weeks! I just wanted to know how everyone's application experience is going so far? Hopefully we can answer each others questions and this thread can serve as a place to share experiences especially while waiting for decisions.

I have my background check completed, my fingerprinting is in process, and I'm taking the HESI this week. I am super nervous!

I can't wait to hear from any of you who are applying! Don't be shy :) and good luck everyone!

My adviser just emailed me back that she has not heard that it was canceled.

This school made us wait and wait when they could have at least told us that they were CONSIDERING canceling the program so we could apply else where just in case.This is beyond ridiculous

What could they possibly tell the transfers that is any different? They are cancelling the program. Are you going to reimburse us for the background check that is only good for 6 months or the GCU specific HESI? This is absolutely ridiculous. I can't even believe that a college could put prospective applicants through this. We missed so many deadlines and like segrace said, we just sat around like a bunch of idiots.

As FRUSTRATING as this is...ATLEAST we now know SOMETHING! Instead of guessing and being in the dark about it. I'll still be watching the webinar but I'm in now in full plan B mode

Hi everyone, I'm Amber... I have been following this thread for a long time now. I'm from ASU and am applying the the GCU Fall 2015 fast track at AT Still. I just read all the posts about the Summer program cancelling :( That's crazy! Is this going to happen to all the other programs in the future too?

The Gateway session I attended said the HESI scores are good there - they only require English and Math. Only problem is the potential 80,000 year wait time to start, and the fact that you cant stack the CEP with any of their accelerated programs. Coooool this is all really good and awesome. I'm beyond frustrated.

How can a university just do that students who were counting on this? I don't understand. Does anyone know WHY the program got cancelled?

hey guys don't get scared of the wait time,

I have been told and also most of my friends that applied for the CEP program were called to start the program a few months after. What you need to do is get your transcripts in and once they get reviewed you can submit your application. Or you can apply to Chamberlain School of Nursing. I was accepted and got my financial summary. The cost is $52k, but if you can get grants it helps. Also if you look on their website they have tons of scholarships you can apply for after you are in because they are based off your in school GPA similar to GCU. I am still in shock, I posted on GCU's wall on Facebook.com and asked if the program was cancelled and why was is cancelled.

I am so over it. This school is a joke! We have been beyond stressed out and they have been playing with our minds for the past 6 months. Seriously!!! :madface:

What they did to us is awful. I am so sorry to everyone who has had to go through this experience. I have never heard of a college acting so unprofessionally and doing this to its applicants. My family could not even believe what they did to us and my Dad works in the business department of another college. He said that if his department admin acted like this, it would cause severe consequences.

I agree. The unprofessionalism is obscene! I can't even being to imagine how anyone can put anyone through something like this. The fact that they tell certain students a different times is messed up. Like us transfer student don't deserve to know until the very end?? I feel bad for all those students that don't know and are still hopeful that this webinar is going to give them good news.
