Published

Hello Everyone,

I know it is extremely early in the year but, the May deadline will be here before we know it. I wanted to see if there is anyone out there applying for GCU specifically in Tucson but, also in phoenix. I want to hear your experiences with the application process and the new Hesi A2 exam. I am planing on taking my Hesi A2 at the end of March.

look forward to hearing from yall

Thanks :). I signed up. But it didn't give me a time and It didn't ask me to pay.... So do I have my test scheduled?? Don't wanna just assume and drive 3 hours to take the test and I didn't do something right

You have to sign up at this website https://evolve.elsevier.com/ , create an account and pay for your test in the HESI section of the Evolve website. The test also starts at 9am and will have until 2pm to complete the test.

And after you register/pay for test at the evolve website posted above by MoseL, it will have you print a receipt which you then bring with you on the day you signed up to take the test.

I am applying for Fall at the Scottsdale campus. Anybody have any idea if you take a summer class if they count that into your GPA?

My understanding is they take only pre-reqs into consideration for acceptance and scholarship. Summer classes as long as they are not being retaken and are a required course count toward scholarship GPA.

Okay that makes sense. Thanks

I am taking my HESI this Monday. Do they just take the average of all scores or do they look at each section?

How did it go??

I scored an 86%. That was without studying for it at all. Now I wish I reviewed some of the Biology and A&P sections to get a higher score.I hope that will be enough. My GPA is somewhere around 3.6 - 3.8.

So I am getting mixed info about the HESI as far as subjects they test on. Did they test on Biology? I thought it was A&P and Chemistry. But I see that some here are saying they were tested on Biology…

You did good! I'm scheduled for May 6... I'm kinda scared. I took the hesi at Glendale community college and scored a 86. Do you know if they compare at all?

Specializes in NICU.

I had to take the biology section but my adviser said that section does not count against you.

The test is broken out into separate sections. Bio was one of them so I took it. The proctor was clueless as to what we were supposed to do and said to take all sections. The whole test was very basic (math, reading, chem) I just wish I read through some Biology materials before taking it.

Without the bio section my score should be at least 90%.

After I got back home I emailed the nursing advisor to find out if my score would be enough and she stated that she has absolutely no idea as to what the admission committee will be looking at. I just would like to get one straight answer from someone.

I don't think they compare scores. Each school requires their you to take the entrance exam for their school only. But, I don't know anything anymore :-)
