GCU ABSN

Published

Hi, I just wanted to know if anyone else is interested in going to GCU's ABSN program? Or if anyone is currently in this program, how is it going? I'm planning on attending Jan 2022! Thanks!

Hi everyone! I’m currently in the process of working with an admissions advisor for GCU’s ABSN program. There’s a lot of considering I have to do since I’m living at home in Southern California and would need to move out to AZ. I still need to take two pre-reqs (Pathophysiology and Christian Worldview). I’ve been reading many different opinions on the program itself. Is anyone currently looking at apartments in the Phoenix area?

Commenting cause I’ll be starting the ABSN program at the Phoenix location next month (fall 2021)! If anyone is starting then let me know! Start forming study groups early haha

Hi there! I’ll be starting the fall program at the Phoenix location as well! ?

Awesome!! Are you living in the area? I just moved here so I’m still settling in and getting everything together. But if you wanted to connect you can text me at +18087217669

I'll send you a text!

I also need just those two classes as well! I actually started patho today and maybe christian worldview later on this year. I'm going towards the Tucson location and I started looking at apartments over there tho

@shapermoonHi! I am starting this fall!

Hey guys, I was wondering for those who are currently in the program, if you can give an example of what your schedule is typically like? I know you were all mentioning how its a 50/50 learning environment. But I'm more curious about how many days you attend labs/sims/clinicals?

Hey everyone! I'm planning on starting this program in the Sun City/Phoenix location in January 2022. I was originally going to start this fall, but life got in the way so I had to delay by a semester. It seems like a lot of people are coming from california, so I feel better about relocating since I'm coming from CA as well! Born and raised in the East Bay, but got my bachelors at UCSD.

All of my prereqs and other requirements are done, so I'd be more than happy to answer questions if you have them. Can't wait to meet some of you in person in January hopefully!!

You are totally fine! ahah I graduated from CSUMB which is about an hour away from San Jose, so I'm familiar with the area. ?

I'm planning on going to the Sun City location! I saw your other post and I have talked to an advisor. If you can, try to get an appointment with one! They go over all of your transcripts and tell you what transfers over and what you have to retake or what left you have to take. I only had to retake Chemistry for my GPA. I'm planning on taking Pathophysiology through Rio Salado College, a community college in Arizona. The class directly transfers to GCU & is cheaper than taking it there. Christian Worldview has to be taken straight through GCU. I believe an academic advisor has to register you for the course. I'm not planning on taking it until August but can share information when I do!

As far as I know, the program is first come first serve. Which is literally a breath of fresh air compared to the competition in California to get into nursing school. ? I believe the first graduating class from the ABSN program will be December 2021. Their traditional BSN program has a really good reputation in Arizona and is highly completive to get into.

NICE!! One less thing to worry about! LOL Yes! Can you share study tips for the HESI?? I took the TEAS and assuming it will follow a similar format. I didn't do so well in the English portion, so thinking I should focus hard in that section for the HESI.

Hey girl!! I am planning on applying to the ABSN in Tucson this May, I was wondering if I can message you maybe you know more info about it because I don't know much about it at all haha. Thank you!

Hey everyone,

I’m indecisive between choosing GCU or ASU for the ABSN. Is there anyone that’s in the program for GCU that can give me some insight on what they like/dislike. Please please the pressure is on.
