Gateway Fast Track PN Program

U.S.A. Arizona

Just thought I would let those of you wanting to apply to Gateway's PN Program that in orientation last night they said the wait list is up to about 1 1/2 - 2 years. Typically it has been 1-2 semesters, but they said since more and more people are trying to bypass the wait list for the RN program, the PN program has become very popular. I did not want to rain on anyone's parade, but thought you would like to know the approximate wait time.

So what would you say is the most common reason for people failing? 60% is scary!

The 60% number is a rumor - so I wouldn't give it much weight... In my group, we lost most at the final...

I know there were a couple of people who were hoping to do well on the final to bring their grades up, and that really wasn't an option - the final was harder than our quizzes were. Attendance really wasn't enforced during block one, otherwise we would have lost more people.

Miteacher, are you applying in the next session as well? I would love to start in January. What do you think our chances are? I have heard so many stories, that there is going to be alot more on the list...but a girl I know applied in April and got in for the fall. So I am still hopeful! :) I think that the with this program or any other nursing program for that matter has stories following their pass/fail rate. I heart awful things about CGC nursing program, but a girl I know very well graduated from there and did fine. I think a lot has to do with the effort you put in it! :) And thank you rzyzzy for all your great info!
