Is anyone starting the Banner Fellows Program in March 08 at Gateway? I'm so excited about starting and hoping to communicate with some classmates.
Also - anyone out there currently in the program at Gateway? How do you like it? Any tips for us newbees?

Has anyone else applied for the March cohort and heard nothing? I put in my app on Oct 19th, the deadline, but I handed it in personally. I haven't had a phone call or a letter. I called last week, and all they could tell me is no news is good news. Anyone else in the same boat? Thanks!
When I originally turned in my application it was 6-8 weeks before I got a call for an interview. I too was worried that my application was lost, rejected, or who knows what. But try to be patient, hopefully they will call you soon to set up an interview. I believe that they are done interviewing for March, but the next cohort would be July. Hope you get the call soon. Good Luck.
Thanks! Does anyone know what schools participate in which cohort?

congratulations!
I was accepted to BNFP and will be attending Mesa Community College 08.
Have you heard when our orientation will be or our class schedule?
Congratulations to you too!!!! MCC would be a bit closer for me, but I'm just so excited that I got the BNFP that I am not complaining about the location.
I just got my confirmation of intent from Gateway today via email. My letter indicated that orientation is March 17th. It also said that Gateway would be sending out a packet with schedule and registration information. Hopefully that comes really soon. It's tough to plan when you don't know what the schedule will be.
Best of luck to you - maybe we will meet at clinicals.
March 17th is orientation? I thought we'd be starting on March 17th. If orientation is that late I wonder when classes start...
How are you planning on supporting yourself financially? I have a full-time 8-5pm job right now, that I would have to quit if our classes are held during the day.
Do you have any idea when classes are held (nights/weekends)?
When I received my letter from Banner it said that Orientation was March 17th. Perhaps there is another orintation that the college does before that?? I hope so too.In the letter I received today from Gateway it said that a packet would be coming with info on orientation date, course schedule, registration information and health forms.
As far as I know all the classes will be daytime hours and I don't think that it is recommended that you work fulltime while in the program. I don't think that Banner has any program that has night/weekend classes. There is a program through the community colleges that is night/weekends, but it is not one of the Banner participating programs.
You should speak with financial aid at MCC about a student loan to get you through the program financially. That is what I plan on doing.
Take Care
Hey gonna get there or sp awakening,
I have a question that maybe you could help me on...:uhoh21:
So, I already sent in the forms that we had to sign upon acceptance and I am so excited that I don't care too much about the location, but I was wondering how you know which location you are assigned to? Don't get me wrong, I'll go wherever they assign me but if I could have a choice that would be better. On my application I listed Chandler as my first choice, but things have changed and now I am hoping for Gateway or another location.
Did you both get assigned your choice that was on your application? Did either of you have a situation like this? I'm just wondering if I will be given a choice when the time comes. I called and spoke to the coordinator and she said that when the time comes, we could have a talk? I guess she just wants me to wait until the time is closer.
If you have any info on this type of situation, I'd appreciate it!

When I originally applied I requested Chandler, but apparently they are not having a class at Chandler. During the interview they asked if I would be willing to attend a different school and I said yes. When I got my letter from Banner it stated Gateway as my assignment. Since you are on the waiting list for March, maybe they will offer you whichever location comes open first, Gateway or Mesa? Hopefully you will hear something soon and I will meet you at Gateway!
