  1. Hi, Can someone please tell me what the weekly class schedule is for the March 2008 cohort at MCC? I have tried calling the hotline/chairperson several times only to get "we will send you a packet in the mail" or an answering machine. Seems like it's impossible to get a simple answer! :icon_roll
  2. Micro was a walk in the park compared to A&P I or II. I took micro in the summer. I only had to take 3 classes, A&P I and II and Micro, to apply for NS (I had completed all other pre-reqs while earning a bachelors degree), so I took them one-by-one each semester. A&P I and II were extremely challenging. Micro was a breeze.
  3. Did someone just say "massive student debt?" A debt collector just got his wings. I'm in the same situation only the dollar amount is much higher...
  4. Deeks0, You couldn't have said it better. Word-for-word, that's exactly how I feel. "Getting in" was a definite confidence booster.
  5. becklynne2, I am really sorry to hear that you didn't get in. I know the emotion toll that the application and interview process took on you. I had a nervous breakdown during the waiting period. And I too, was EXTREMELY nervous during the interview: My heart was pounding out of my chest I was stumbling over my words I went off on a tangent, drifting off topic But somehow, I managed to "pull it together" and summarize my thoughts. I believe I was accepted because of my credentials, and also because they saw that I was genuine and sincere during the interview. After having goofed during one of the earlier questions, I stopped, took a deep breath, looked all of them in the eye and said "I'm sorry. I am so nervous right now. I'm nervous because this is a huge opportunity and would mean so much to me to be accepted." They said "no problem, don't worry about it." I continued to answer their questions and move through the interview. To answer your question. They asked me about 4-5 different versions of the same question: Tell us about yourself. Describe a time where you've demonstrated excellence. Describe a time where you've demonstrated quality in service.I can't remember the exact wording of the questions, but they were along these lines. Here's my advice for next time: Before the interview - Volunteeer at one of their locations (if you can) and deliberately discuss during the interview how your volunteer experience has fulfilled your call to service. This will show that you have "gone out of your way" to be a part of Banner and that you are serious about working in healthcare. Search VolunteerMatch.org for opportunities. Re-write your essay questions, focusing on your determination, drive, academic abilityDuring the interview Dress professionally - a nice suit will show that you take this opportunity seriously and your sharp appearance should boost your inner confidence. Discuss your volunteerism at one of the Banner locations (if you were able to volunteer) Absolutely convince them that you are academically, physically and emotionally prepared to handle the challenges of NS and that you are confident that you will be successful in the program. You may need to interject examples of your past academic success and how you've overcome obstacles in the past to reach your end goals. At the end, reiterate your drive and commitment to being successful in the program.I hope this helps! Project confidence, determination and academic ability! You will succeed.
  6. Thanks cherlee522, Where did you get this info from (classes, times, dates)? I'd like to find out if it will be the same for Mesa CC.
  7. You're having "fun"? That's about the first time I have ever come across a post on allnurses when someone said they were having "fun" in nursing school. Most of these posts are filled with endless complaints. I'm interested in your point of view. Please share with us what kind of fun you're having. (I start as 16 month ADN program in March 2008).
  8. If you have been accepted for March 2008, I think you only have two choices: Gateway or Mesa. I don't think that the program is offered at any other locations for March 2008.
  9. March 17th is orientation? I thought we'd be starting on March 17th. If orientation is that late I wonder when classes start... How are you planning on supporting yourself financially? I have a full-time 8-5pm job right now, that I would have to quit if our classes are held during the day. Do you have any idea when classes are held (nights/weekends)?
  10. congratulations! I was accepted to BNFP and will be attending Mesa Community College 08. Have you heard when our orientation will be or our class schedule?
