Just thought I would start a new thread about Galen. Anything and everything Galen can be posted here! Please feel free to share, or ask questions!
I am still waiting on my acceptance letter, and am going crazy:bugeyes:! Hopefully, I will be starting July 27th.
Hello again,
I actually received an e-mail on July 27 from Mrs. Claypoole that said the third week so I'm not sure. It may be because they are behind since the new campus opened. I know my test results were delayed because of this. You could always try calling Galen and asking if they have been mailed out. I have seen a few girls on here that were actually told over the phone they were accepted so it would be worth a shot.
Wow, now I wish i hadn't told you to call. I'm even more nervous. I have seen in other posts that it has taken up to 3 weeks for others to get there letter from the time they started mailing them. Anyway, good luck and let me know when you get yours because I should be right behind you since I took it after you and you scored a point ahead of mine. Thanks for letting me know!
I'm in my first Quarter now. I bought a Jansport rolling backpack, a digital recorder (I don't use it), a lanyard to hold my school badge, a good lunch bag (no refridgerator at River Rd. campus), a couple 2" binders, one 4" binder to put things in after I have finished a section in each subject, several one subject notebooks, lots of highlighters, black pens, #2 pencils for tests, a ton of notecards, a clipboard w/storage for clinicals, Littman classic stethescope, disposable pen lights, bandage scissors, Nursemates. I also bought an Ipod Touch, but won't be using it until 2nd Qtr.
I don't go to Galen, but am I nursing student at another school in Louisville. I, too, was considering buying an IPod touch but dl helpful things for clinicals on it, but was told that electrionical devices are not allowed in the clinical setting. Just an idea, might wanna hold off on that. I don't know if Galen is the same, but I would assume it is since it is probably the clinical site's rules and not the schools

Hello Jsadler,
I am waiting on my acceptance packet and it's killing me. I heard from Maggie Claypoole who is the admissions manager that acceptance packets will not be sent out untill the third week of August so don't start panicking yet! I have also learned that they now do acceptance in waves of how cpat test scores beginning with the 180-190 range and even if your score is lower you will more than likeley get in but you may have to wait for a different semester. I got a 172 on my CPAt which makes me even more nervous. One thing in our favor though is that they no longer administer the CPAt so I would think they would accept all the CPAt test takers before the PAX-PN test takers. This is definiteley worse than waiting on the test results!! Good luck and you are certainly not the only one waiting anxiously!
