GALEN COLLEGE OF NURSING TAMPA BAY FALL 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi,

I just wanted to start this chat because I have not heard/seen any other people who plan on attending Galen College of Nursing Tampa Bay for the Fall 2020 semester. I am a 23 year old female From NJ with a Bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology and Psychology from Penn State. I am doing the accelerated BSN program. Please reach out if you are in this program or just a Galen student! I would love to make friends before moving down there!

Hey guys! still deciding if I wanna start Galen in October 2020 or January 2021. Anyone has any idea how admissions go with corona?

I am also considering starting in october of 2020 but have not taken my TEAS exam yet for the entrance. I will be doing next month though. Anyone else starting in October? ?

Hey everyone! I submitted my application last night. How was the admissions process for you guys? I also applied to Herzing, but heard better reviews about Galen

Hi guys,

I am planning on going to Galen as well this coming October. But I want to know if any of you can give tips on where I can get the best study guide for the entrance exam? I did most of my prerequisites at SPC. I’m wondering if I still need to take the entrance exam? Was it hard? I am super nervous!

@Fdleon Hi! I am not starting until April 2021 but I took the TEAS test already since I was applying to a bunch of other programs before Galen. I scored pretty well, Galen's test minimum is low compared to other programs anyway so it shouldn't be too hard for you to get a decent score. Are you taking the PAX or the TEAS? They both cover the same subjects. Brush up on your basic math from high school (algebra, fractions, converting decimals to percentages etc) and anatomy. They also test on reading and grammar but that was pretty easy. My TEAS test asked a lot of anatomy questions, I studied by using a TEAS test app and I also bought a study guide on Amazon. Google practice tests online too. You'll be fine, there's a lot of resources online ?

Thank you so much! I am planning on taking the TEAS. I will buy a study guide as well. I want to ask, do you have to pass all the test or you just have to reach the minimum score that they need and round up your score all together?

I am taking the TEAS this Wednesday coming up and I am trying to brush up on A&P and math mainly. I am so nervous LOL I get test anxiety and I second guess myself so I am hoping I do well. ?

@Fdleon they add up your scores from all the sections into one score. I think the minimum is around 60% or 50 something, check with Galen. download TEAS test apps and take the practice questions everyday. I used "ATI TEAS Pocket Prep" and "TEAS Mastery".

Good luck, you've got this!! I ended up scoring highest on math LOL and I am TERRIBLE at math. A&P was the trickiest.
