GALEN COLLEGE OF NURSING TAMPA BAY FALL 2020

Published

Hi,

I just wanted to start this chat because I have not heard/seen any other people who plan on attending Galen College of Nursing Tampa Bay for the Fall 2020 semester. I am a 23 year old female From NJ with a Bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology and Psychology from Penn State. I am doing the accelerated BSN program. Please reach out if you are in this program or just a Galen student! I would love to make friends before moving down there!

@selenuuuh17 how often did you study for the TEAS?? and thank you for the tips!

I procrastinated and ended up studying the week of, honestly like 3 days before but I had been taking practice questions on the apps everyday for like a month since I always had my phone with me I would just open it and do some questions throughout the day. I ended up getting a 70%. I know I could've gotten a higher score if I studied more but I was working and had school at that time so it was tough to juggle everything. Anatomy is what lowered my score

@Fdleon they add up your scores from all the sections into one score. I think the minimum is around 60% or 50 something, check with Galen. download TEAS test apps and take the practice questions everyday. I used "ATI TEAS Pocket Prep" and "TEAS Mastery".

Good luck, you've got this!! I ended up scoring highest on math LOL and I am TERRIBLE at math. A&P was the trickiest.

Thank you for all your tips! I will download them. I am also very bad at math so I need to study. It is hard when you are working and have kids.

@Fdleon I get you guys. I just finished 5 Summer classes at my local college and now im taking my TEAS next week and I have my 2 year old daughter..I am just hoping I pass.

Hey guys! still deciding if I wanna start Galen in October 2020 or January 2021. Anyone has any idea how admissions go with corona?

You do everything through Zoom, it's going well for me so far...I had a meeting with one of the admissions advisors on Zoom last week, I am starting in April so I've still got some time. I sent over my TEAS score and transcripts and will be meeting with finance soon!

Hey everyone! I changed my application to start in July of 2021. Anyone have TEAS study tips?

Hey! Like I told the other girls above you should download the apps “ATI TEAS Pocket Prep" and "TEAS Mastery”, they give you daily questions of the day and practice tests. They helped me a lot. There’s also good study guides on amazon. Make sure to brush up on your basic math skills from high school like converting decimals into fractions and percentages, algebra, dividing fractions, stuff like that. Also brush up on A&P. I got some tricky questions about the male and female reproductive systems.

Will do. I don't get my results till tomorrow. ?The test itself was OK. The english and language part are pretty basic, the math I felt was the easiest to be honest ( and im terrible at it). The science portion of it had me nervous. Brush up on A&P and keep doing the practice questions!

OMG LADIES! I have a BS in Public Health and just applied yesterday. Planning on attending Jan 2021. I am in Saint Pete and would love to connect with you guys! I am so nervous and excited to start. I read online that the admission rate is 100% but the graduate rate is 58%, which makes sense if it's 100% admission rate. I am mostly worried about the financial part of it. Are any of you ladies applying for outside grants? I pretty much-exhausted undergrad financial aid during my bachelor's so I am not sure where to go.

Hi! OMG that's so exciting, you'll be starting really soon! I'm not starting until April 2021 but I've been applying to random scholarships online. I still have to meet with finance but I am probably going to have to take out loans since I currently work full time so they're going to base my aid on my current income. Do you have an IG? I'm @ selenuuuh17 if you want to add me ? I'll be moving to St Pete from Cali in March

@selenuuuh17 If you need help looking for places, let me know! I've lived in this area my whole life (aside from a short stint in DC). That's so exciting! I have my enrollment appt next Monday and I'm super excited. Do you have a Bachelor's already? And I have an insta but I'm not on it a whole lot. It's yay_ayshaa ?
