Hi everyone. I am trying to join the Navy Nurse Corps for FY 2014 (Oct. 2013). I know this is a bit early for a thread like this but I plan on beginning my package in January 2013 to allow maximum time to perfect my application kit. I will be graduating with my BSN May 2013 and plan on taking NCLEX shortly after. I am hoping my kit will be triple checked before I submit it to the board. I am in the process of contacting a healthcare recruiter is San Diego right now and hopefully get stuff moving along. I just wanted to post this thread for others that are also planning on applying for FY2014 commissioning. I will be sharing information as the process goes along so you guys can get an idea of timeframe of events. I know I have been on all these similar threads trolling for answers in the hopes of adequate preparation.. Hope to meet some of you with similar goals soon :yes: Kim

I also researched the air force forum and the ones chosen found out last month; however, I found that several will not go to their version of ODS which is COT until march 2014. I think the Navy will have numbers by the end of this month as per my recruiter then go to ODS within a month since ODS is every 5 weeks. Then again its a different time and need now. I will surely let everyone know if I found any new news.

I think the recruiters are ignoring all of us being that they have no information. Does anyone know how the other branches were able to make selections and not the Navy???? Just wondering. LoL. Stay positive and stay busy....LoL.

I guess I will just have to pay my recruiter a visit and talk to her face to face. If it is delayed, I need to at least hear it from her.Will let you guys know what I find out. I really hope to meet you guys at ODS. Really trying to stay positive:)

I would go to my recruiters office, but she's 30-40 min away...LoL. I guess this is the best time to study for my CMC even though I really don't want to...LoL. The name of the game is....StAy BuSy :D

Packets that were ready were submitted to the board and the board has met. However, they do not know how many slots they will have this year so they aren't going to release who has been selected until they know how many they will be able to accept. It is not a for sure thing that they will be accepting any. Initially 40 slots were expected so approximately 80 were submitted to the board. Hopefully more information will be available soon.

TJOCKISBONDE, Did your recruiter tell you that? If so, did they call you or did you call them? I am just asking bc mine told me that they were unable to submit anything until those numbers were selected. I am going to have to contact my recruiter on Monday.

love2013, My recruiter gave me the same information. I have asked her probably a dozen times and she has assured me that all packets are being held at the recruiting level until the board releases the quota for the year.

My packet, from what I am told, is at the program manager waiting for boards. My stuff was sent on 10/1

vinstafa...From what my recruiter told me is that my packet has been scanned to the program manager and awaiting the board. I am ready for this process to be over. However, I have learned the art of patience.

My packet is also waiting for the board to convene. Heard from my recruiter today. He simply said that they are "expecting a decision soon" in regards to openings for the Nurse Corps. Hope everyone is holding up well!

Hey Guys! I got a packet in too, no news from the recruiters except for mention of the shutdown slowing down civilian clerical stuff. Hope this is over soon... got my very supportive wife and family in a holding pattern until we hear... hope to see you guys at OTS!
