Hello all!
So, I have been in touch with a health professions recruiter for applying to the July 2017 board for the first board of the fy2018. However, my recruiter is super busy and semi-difficult to get ahold of. I have tons of questions, but I don't have time once I do get ahold of him, to ask.
So where are all of you in the application process? Have you had CNM interviews? Medical clearance appointments? I am so anxious! Have they dropped the fy2018 bonuses for critical care nurses? Have you guys heard anything about bases in need of critical care RN's the most? I have been waiting for this opportunity my whole life. I've been a nurse (first n LPN, then an ADN, and just finished my BSN not too long ago) for almost ten years now and most of them have been spent in Critical Care. I would appreciate any tips and 411 anyone has. I was married to an Army grunt for a long time no I know how the military can and loves to be, a hurry up and wait game, but I am looking to be proactive in getting answers!!
Is anyone in the Southeast Region? Looking for Critical Care?
Thanks in advance guys!

Just heard back from DODMERB that I was medically qualified last week. Supposed to hear from my recruiter some time next week. I have not had the CN interview yet. I'm also in the southeast region and my recruiter is sometimes difficult to get in touch with. I don't know any specifics regarding critical care but I wish you the best of luck! I'm applying for a fully qualified psych-mental health slot.

I'm in New Orleans and my healthcare recruiter is out of Baton Rouge, LA. I'm all submitted as a fully qualified ER nurse, tons of paperwork, went to MEPS, had my colonel nurse interview, made my dream sheet.
I was told there were no extra bonuses for ER at this time, he did say there was a bonus for OR. I don't know how many of each specialty they need but if you ask your recruiter they should be able to tell you. I know they were looking for 15 ER nurses for FY2018.
Hope you get in touch with them and good luck! Also there are more boards for the year so don't worry too much! The process is so long.
