Hello future nursing students,
I have currently finished majority of my per-req courses such as, anatomy & physiology 1 which I made a B in and anatomy2 I managed to pull an A. I have not taken microbiology as of yet, but it will be taken in July of this summer. I wanted to start a thread because I am extremely nervous and anxious during the process of applying and being accepted to nursing school and hopefully could get some advice and tips on taking the NLN exam and any other information that could be helpful as well. I am thinking about taking the NLN exam some time before fall semester begin so that would give me sometime to breath after my summer class. I have been looking over the Pre-admission guide that Southwest suggest to study for the nln. Is that book actually helpful? What does the test consist of? And was any of the material difficult?
Any information will be helpful and good luck to all on the journey of becoming a nurse!!!

I am also applying to the nursing program at Southwest for the Spring 2013. I haven't taken the NLN test yet but am scheduled for august 3rd. I know that you need to go to sign up for the test ASAP before they fill up. They only offer three dates that I know of. It's $70 to sign up. Where are you taking micro?

Thanks for replying Mom!!
I am taking Microbiology at Southwest as I type lol and Monday I will be going to register for the Nln exam (hopefully they are not booked), and also registering for the TEAS test at University of Memphis. Have you finished all of your pre-req's as of yet?
Hi there. Yes I did all of my prereqs at Southwest. I will be taking more gen Ed classes in the fall. I had Drake for micro. I am also going to take the teas - have to sign up when they open the dates for August.
I just signed up for my NLN exam, my test date is Aug 13, and I am also going to take the Teas at University of Memphis as well. I have Lawson for my Microbiology and it is lovely!! I'm also going to finish up my general ed at Southwest this fall too!! I wanted to ask you how are you studying for the NLN exam and the Teas? I have the study guide that Southwest recommended and just have been going through it and reviewing over things that I am not familiar with. And I know that the Teas has material on the internet that you have to purchase in order to study. Have you by chance purchased those item/s as of yet? If so how are they?
Hi - sorry so long since reply. I took my teas and my NLN. I bought one book that covered all the nursing test and used that. It seemed to help. I passed both tests - thank goodness. How'd you do?
