I have a math teacher who often gets very irritated with the complaints of his students. He sent me a student the other day and the note said, "Dust just got in his eye, does Lifeflight need to be called?"..
If you ask the student, yes, yes they do..

I love that the teacher has a sense of humor about it. I feel like in my school, it's usually the teachers who are the ones panicking and making a way bigger deal about it than the kids...

While this is funny, it is only reinforcing the student's behavior. Better for the teacher to not make a big deal out of it, have the student rinse the eye, and not draw extra attention to the student.
