The small hospital where I work is in a lower income area and we have LOTS of drug seekers...most are such frequent flyers that we know their DOGS and CATS names by heart ......OH how I wish I could say things like that to some of them...altho I never would. It would be soo tempting to say "I know what you want, just come out and say it rather that waste my time, money, and effort."

We had a woman a few days ago that came in SCREAMING with 10/10 pain in her back. Sent her to X-ray, worked her up, send 2-3 hrs in the ER, she hobbled/moaned pitifully every time she had to move. Nothing was found (didn't expect to find anything) Got her script for 20 Percocet--which she specially asked for because "nothing else works" and limped to the exit doors. We all ran over to the window and after she got about 10 feet away from the doors, she squared up her shoulders, held her head up and PRANCED to her car and drove away....

What a waste of resources.......
