On average?
I have never been full time -only casual and PT and I don't think I have ever been ill. BUT I am curious with working full time, if people are ill more? I would imagine so.

Been nursing almost 20 years without taking any sick days, thank the Lord. But I am ALWAYS short on PTO as my kids are out of state and I have to get that grandkid fix once in a while.

3 years this July (at this job) and have used 1 day. However, I cashed out 15 hours last year for an end of the year bonus to myself, and this year will be using almost 66 hours (cashed out). I can transfer sick time to vacation and then donate it to someone - so since my wife is expecting and she doesn't have as much sick time to use I can give her 46 hours at my pay which will equal 128 at hers (or roughly 4 weeks). This will give her almost 2 months of maternity leave (when combined with what she has) and we won't have to worry about a decreased pay check during that time.
Saving your sick time can sometimes be really cool for these reasons - but if you are sick you should use it.

I took two days over the summer for headaches related to what I think was really bad sinus pressure (and blurry vision in one eye, eep!). I also took two days in winter for feeling an illness coming on, then getting it on a Friday night.
I did get the norovirus (UGH!), but of course that happened on my weekend and it stopped the night I was going back into work. Worst sickness I've ever had.
My sick/vacation time is PTO time though, so it's all pooled together.
