I am currently applying to the ADN LPN-RN bridge program? I have to work while in school. I plan to work 7-3p at my nursing home on Saturday and Sunday. I also plan to work 10p-6am at least two maybe three times a week. My question is: Is it doable? I'm I setting myself up for failure? Has anyone ever work full time and did school? Please share stories/advice!!!

I worked "full time" during school both my undergrad and graduate degrees. Graduate school was easier -- I worked 12s on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and was able to pay for books and tuition as I went. But my BSN -- I worked 2 or 3 jobs at a time, and one memorable summer I got up at 4am to be at my first job by 5, and ended the day at my third job, tending bar until closing (2 or 3 am, depending upon whether it was standard or daylight saving time). Three days a week, the days I didn't have classes in the afternoon, I got to sleep a few hours. I'm thinking you've got a better job with better pay than any of the jobs I had while working on my BSN!

I work 0700-1500 5 days a week. I'm not getting A's, but I'm doing well. This isn't ideal, but it's reality at this point in my life.
I work in a hotel, so in my downtime i do get to study (a little.) This helps quite a bit.
I also never have to take work home with me. It's low stress and i only think about it when I'm there. Not sure if this is the case where you're working.

I work 40 hours a week and attend a traditional BSN program. I work in a residential rehabilitation treatment program 4 hours on Thursday evenings, 12's 1800-0600 Friday, Saturday and Sunday, then roll into class Monday morning. I try to use as much downtime at work to get in studying or homework.
