Is there anyone applying for the Spring 2021 program at Forsyth Tech? If so, where do you stand? Have you had a MAR review, have you taken the TEAS?
Hi,
I was trying to figure out the point system. My courses have more credit hours then what is listed. Like my anatomy and physiology courses at 5 credit hours but on the list it says 4 credit hours. I was wondering which one to go based on?? I just moved from California so I’m guessing it’s different state credits offered.
thanks!
I would use their point system and credit hours. I don't see them giving you any more points for a class then they allow. So, I would count it as 4 points. Welcome and good luck!! I am currently in the second half of my third semester. Let me know if you get in and I have some tips and resources I can share with you along the way.

So Forsyth Tech does not got be the credit hours, they just go by what grade you got. Also, if it all makes your feel better right now due to the COVID mandate many people are really thinking about it, due to every clinical facility requiring them for students, so you may get a seat. I wish you nothing but the best, nursing school is the Squid Games. You have to be wise, and make friends, becuase they will get you through it.
@Santiago Castro the credit hours is just referring to the number of credits a class is worth. I’m the admissions (MAR) packet it says to take those credits and multiply by the grade received. That’s where I was getting confused because the amount was different than my school gave for the same course.

@Lettyness90 Have you sent your transcript to the admission office, yet? I would do that first if that’s something you haven’t done because that will determine how the school transfers your course in and how many credit hours they will give you for that course. Then you’ll be able to calculate your points. Hope this helps.
@shahines30 I did this past Friday so hopefully I hear back from them soon! Not sure if you or anyone else knows. I have my LPN license from Ca and worked there per diem for 7-8 months before moving here this Summer. Would that be enough to qualify for the LPN to RN program. If not could I challenge and get my CNA license for the traditional ADN program?

If you get your license transferred to NC you can apply to the LPN to RN program. You just have to have an unrestricted license as an LPN registered in NC. If that’s not an option, you can not challenge the CNA exam. FT requires that every student take a NC approved training program to get their license. You have plenty of time to figure out the RN program because the deadline isn’t until February. The deadline for the LPN to RN program is next month.
@shahines30 ahh OK. It was confusing with the exceptions online. One was if you have CNA In any state, so wasn’t sure if I got it in CA if that would work. Thank you for the information! I do have my LPN license transferring to NC so I will focus on going that route.
