FSW Spring 2018

Published

It's a bit early, I know. I just wanted to start a thread for all of those looking down the road planning to apply to FSW this fall for the spring 2018 program start..

I'm planning on applying to the Charlotte campus for the Evening/Weekend (ANEW) schedule format.

What campus are you planning on applying to?

What classes are you trying to finish up before applying in Sept/Oct?

What program schedule format will you be choosing (Daytime or evening/weekend)?

Did you take the TEAS VI exam and how did you do?

I look forward to the discussion over the next few months!!

Any suggestions for the book bundle alternative would be greatly appreciated, $1500 is no joke

I may look stupid for asking this question but is this book bundle for the whole program or just this semester?

Anyone else notice that the "change student data form" has Fall 2017 filled out for the term and year? Shouldn't it be spring 2018?

Yes, I turned in the form and let Chris know I couldn't change the term.

The book bundle is for every semester. It says it on one of the pages from the acceptance packet. They'll be used all four semesters. and yes I did notice that is says fall 2017 as well. I was headed to the nursing office before class tomorrow to turn my stuff in and ask them about that.

I could be wrong but some of the books include codes. I think you can get an ebook version which is cheaper, but I'm not sure how. I read a few things about the books on older threads.

I just changed the term and year with my pen and sent it back to Chris letting him know of the error. They probably forgot to change it from last semester.

Glad to hear that is the book cost for the whole program. I was getting worried there for a second..

Sorry if this sounds silly, but I'm a little confused regarding uniforms. We have to go to Hamilton's to get the scrubs, and have the option of choosing the Cherokee brand or Wonderworks, which must be white? The scrubs are $150 each? Also, we can purchase the polo at Hamilton's, if so how much are they?

I spoke to someone at the Hamiltons in Pt Charlotte and she said that it takes 2 weeks for our order to get to the store and then another 2-3 for the embroidering to get done. She said that students usually order 2-3 sets of scrubs (I assume a total cost of about $150). Best not to wait to long to put your order in guys..

The FSW bookstore carries the Polo with the nursing logo already on it. I'm not sure of details regarding the polo's from hamiltons.

Anyone opting to get the lab coat?

@weiny4089 Thank you. I'm ordering on Monday, but I'm bringing my credit card just in case lol. I think I'm getting the lab coat.

Does anyone know if pharmacology is online for the traditional program at Lee? It says class will be held on Thursday, but Health & Wellness practicum is also held on Thursday.

I'm also debating on having clinical on Monday vs Friday

The coat is required right? If not I'm not getting it. The program is expensive enough.

Ya I hear you...Since it doesn't specifically say anything about needing the lab coat (that I noticed) I just assumed that it was optional, but I could be wrong. I think I may get one though. I'm curious as to whether the lab coat needs to have the school logo stitched onto it as well..
