Anybody applying for the nursing program at FSW for the spring in 2017? I plan to take my TEAS sometime August or September, does anyone know what the passing score is? And have you finished all your prerequisites and general ed? The only prereqs I have left to do is A&P2, nutrition, and micro. But still have all the general eds left to do. But you don't have to have all the general eds finished before applying right? Sorry, I'm new at this.
Hey everyone! I am also applying for the January 2017 start date. I take my TEAS this upcoming Thursday and I am super nervous cause I have been studying for a good 3 months on and off, but am still not doing so great on the practice exams. I am absolutely terrible at standardized tests. I have a 3.79 GPA and all my pre recs done except for A&P 2. I am trying to figure out the point scale system to see how many points I have so far and so I have a general idea of what I need on the Teas. Also if anyone has any good advice for this exam please let me know! Cause I feel so let down based on how i've been doing on the practice exams But thank you for help in advance!
Hi! You can find the admission tally sheet under ASN in academics. With 3.79 GPA and 8 prereqs done you have 53 points from that alone. At worst if you got a 70 on TEAS you would have a total of 60 points. Any less than a 70 and your admission points would be in the 50s. FSW requires at least a 64 on TEAS to apply. Also, your GPA is only calculated using your prereq classes, just wanted to let you know in case you didn't. A 3.8 GPA and up goes into a higher points bracket, so if you did better in prereqs than overall you may have more points.
I did better on the actual exam than the practice exams. Are you using the online or just what's in the book? I only used the book so I can't compare to the online. My experience was that math and reading were easier than practice, while science and English were harder than what I had been reviewing. My science was very AP heavy, and everyone else that I've heard from says the same thing.
What are your campus choices ??
Hello thereI'm applying for the Spring 2017 prog, with Lee campus my 1st choice
TEAS 85.3%
GPA 3.88
7 courses completed and LPN license
fingers crossed, I hope to hear from all of you soon!!!
Hi! You seem to have very good marks. I'm sure you'll be in for sure. Did you make any of the other campuses 2nd or 3 choices?
I'm glad FSW is going to start the evening program for summer 2017. I'll just skip spring and apply for Summer. Anyone else applying for summer?
I am keeping it mind as a back up plan, but I really don't want to due to the schedule being incredibly inconvenient for me. Days/weekdays would work much better... Waiting until Fall would be even more anxiety for me though. I am very happy the program is open again for those who really need those hours. I know a lot of people were disappointed that it went away this semester.
Good luck to you for when you apply! :)
Hi:) 1st choice Lee, 2nd Charlotte and 3rd Collier... I retaked the Teas this morning, got a 85.3 ( previous was 81.3) and submitted new score...is going to be 4 looooong weeks before we get any results....
Way to go on the score improvement! I'm kind of kicking myself for not allowing time to retest, as even 3 more points on teas would have made me feel much better about my point total for the app. Ugh. Trying not to dwell on it though!
If I were you I would not even sweat these next 4 weeks one bit!! You have REALLY great numbers. You're already in! :)

Awesome info to know!! That really does lessen my anxiety a bit. I did pick all three, and from everything I've seen Charlotte is least competitive (which is what I put first).. So I'm hoping that helps. It really is my preferred campus anyway because it's closest to me.
Thank you for letting me know! I'm so excited and nervous for all of us!!!
