FSW FALL 2018

Hello Everybody. My name is Keesh. I'm starting this thread a little early to get a head start on things. I was looking into starting nursing school in the Spring of 2018, but things come up. Now I'm going to start in the FALL. I'm currently looking into the FSW ANEW program which works better with my work schedule. I was told by a student the ANEW program is just like being in the FULL TIME program except it's online. It consist of hard work, time consuming and dedication. I plan to apply for LEE campus as well.

I wouldn't panick just yet because it seems like the majority haven't gotten an email...we would get an email no matter what. In or out we would know at roughly the same time

I too received an 84.7 on the TEAS. Chris Renda told me that they roundup your score. That 84.7 would be an 85 which would give you 78 points.

Based on those scores, you should be good. My advisor said that the TEAS score is weighed more heavily in the decision making process and that most of the time she sees scores in the 70's.

Just registered for the TEAS at USF on Tuesday, June 12! I purchased the ATI TEAS SmartPrep Study Package. Been studying all week, but not with too much intensity because I thought I would not be able to take the test until July 25th at FSW Lee Campus. But after speaking with someone at ATI, I found out I can take it at another school and have the scores sent over. Such a huge relief! I did not want to have to wait around for a month and a half for this exam. I just want to get it completed. But now that I have registered, I will really step up my studying so I can be ready. Shooting for an 85+. I am going to take the practice exams over the next couple of days and see where my weaknesses lie. Wish me luck!

Good luck. Just think of the July 25th FSW date as a 2nd shot. I took it twice, coincidentally the 2nd time at USF. Reading, I never improved my reading score. I love reading for learning but not for test practice, yuck. A&P is tough, have to have a broad sprinkle of knowledge, A&P my strength, I scored low 80's and some questions I just stared at the screen shaking my head. Just.. A&P A&P A&P. I practiced language mechanics with elementary school work sheets. I.got 100% correct for math. Because I memorized and practiced formulas and the metric system and I'm just really good at moving numbers around quick and understanding what a word problem is asking. And I love linear equations, the more letters in my math, the happier I am.

I am not worried about Math. That has always been my strong suit. I passed my Calc II final with a 95% and I did not even use a calculator (my TI-89 wasn't allowed, only TI-83). I definitely need the refresher on the A&P. It's been a few years since I have seen some of that stuff. As a personal trainer/strength coach, I remember a lot of the exercise/muscle physiology and kinesiology, but not all of the organ systems and immunity curriculum. If I just take my time and READ the questions carefully and thoughtfully on the Reading and English sections, I think I will be good. I tend to skim when I am reading and miss stuff.

Oh for the record I applied to LEE traditional first. LEE ANEW second. Did anyone else apply to any other schools? I'm waiting on another school as well I will not know till the middle of July for that school.

Another applicant I know called Wendy today and she said we would know by the end of next week and that they hadn't even started yet
