FSW Fall 2015

Published

Florida Southwestern State College formerly Edison State College. I started thread for FSW but it is full with spring applicants. So I decided to start a new one for this upcoming fall.

Who is joining me next fall in nursing?

I plan to apply for Part-time or Lee full time. I have one more semester of pre-requisites. I am taking A&P 1, Micro, College Algebra and Nutrition. Kill me now. :arghh: lol A full time semester of craziness but almost done after that hopefully with pre-requisites with the exemption of A&P 2 and a humanities class.

I plan to take the Hesi in mid Feb or march and retake if needed at the end of April. Schedule has been posted and I plan to study a lot this winter break. So excited but so nervous.

Lol, I'll be happy with whatever choice they give me. I'm just hoping I got into one of them. This is my second time applying, so whatever I get, I'll be HAPPY!

If you don't mind my asking, when did you apply before?

When did you apply and how many points did you have?

I applied last fall for the spring semester. I didn't have all my classes done and I had a QP score of 61. I could only chose Lee part time though. I have 3 kids and the youngest was only in Pre-K, I wouldn't have been able to afford the daycare. This round I applied with a 74 and thankfully my youngest will be in kindergarten, so no daycare. Due to that simple fact, this time I was able to make 3 choices. I knew Lee part time was most requested and with the high scores I decided to make that my second pick and Lee day my first. Charlotte is my third choice but no matter what I get, I'll be happy. They said if I would have made more choices last round, I would have gotten in, stupid me...But I really didn't have any choice. I am hoping that Lee day will be for me, my mom attended this school and had 3 months to graduate but she passed away with cancer. That's why I'm sticking with FSW, in her honor, when I graduate I'll be walking the stage for myself and her as well. (At least in my eyes) with only 144 total seats available (for entry not transition) I'm keeping my fingers crossed

I'm sorry about your mom, you will make her proud. My mom passed away with cancer, too. She always wanted me to become an RN so I am also in a way doing this for her.

Just called again. The schools have not been given their lists yet. She said another day or so, hopefully before the weekend. She doesn't even know if they finished up with the applications because there were so many. This is torture though....oh let the waiting continue

Im here on campus at lee, and am debating on wether i should go into the nursing building and see of the staff assistant is there still. I think she would probably be annoyed if i did. Im getting so anxious, i dont think ive ever been this impatient lol

Here goes nothing!

I have a question...I sent in an application applying to FSW around mid April (An application for the school not nursing program) and haven't gotten an acceptance letter yet. Must I be excepted to the campus before they can accept me into the Nursing program? I just thought about all this and I'm very nervous!

So, there was noone there. I saw a sheet of paper in the little slot next to her door ( so i got excited and looked) and it was just just her office schedule 😞

I'm so sorry to read about both of your mothers passing. It is amazing that you guys are going for this with heart and soul. Your mother's would be so proud. I know this waiting is getting to all of us...really hoping to hear from someone from FSW about this before the weekend also.
