Florida Southwestern State College formerly Edison State College. I started thread for FSW but it is full with spring applicants. So I decided to start a new one for this upcoming fall.
Who is joining me next fall in nursing?
I plan to apply for Part-time or Lee full time. I have one more semester of pre-requisites. I am taking A&P 1, Micro, College Algebra and Nutrition. Kill me now. lol A full time semester of craziness but almost done after that hopefully with pre-requisites with the exemption of A&P 2 and a humanities class.
I plan to take the Hesi in mid Feb or march and retake if needed at the end of April. Schedule has been posted and I plan to study a lot this winter break. So excited but so nervous.
Did the pop up calculator appear on the fraction problems? If not, did they allow scratch paper and pencil? I know a previous poster said they did not allow it. I guess I am just hoping it has changed. Dreaming big over here!I am just trying to imagine doing these fraction problems without a calculator and/or pencil and paper and it seems almost impossible.
Hey slewis829.sl how did you fair with doing the fractions without paper or pencil, same fear over here? Do you have any recommendations for me?
Thinking about which campus would be a reasonable choice as far as distance. I am new to the area so not sure exactly the drving distance. I always think miles don't really matter it is the traffic that makes the difference. I live in Lehigh close to 82 and 15 minutes drive from Immokalee. I plan on selecting Lee in itself as a first choice. Would the Naples or Charlotte Campus be closer?
I do have tips for you! There's a trick to adding and subtracting fractions that I learned and helped me ace fractions the second time around without having to remember and mutiply common denominators. I got a 90 on math the 2nd time around and was very proud. If I can do it, you can definitely do it! I will post a link later for you to the video I watched.
Thanks Mami... How was the vocabulary? I am an English person, but a person who panics lol. I can't remember did you ever get a chance to get your score up and are you currently taking those two last classes just in case?
My recommendation is to make flash cards of every single term in the hesi book. A lot of them are straight from there.
Bubbles,
I did horrible on reading and grammar. I studied for this but it is not my strong point, I guess. Its been to many years out of school to remember the basic stuff. haha. I actually did extremely well in math, a&p and biology. So take practice tests online and from books and see how you score. Aside from hesi assessment book, I recommend Mcgraw evolve reach hesi a2 practice tests. There are tons of practice tests on that book.
As far as fractions, I did math in my head and sometimes used calculator. Sometimes, I would convert it into decimals then look answers and see of they matched. Practice with the basic calculator on computer.
