FSCJ Summer 2017 Hopefuls

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I wanted to create a new thread for Summer 2017 hopefuls (it seems far away, but it will be here before we know it).

I am very excited to start this journey, but I have to finish a few more prereqs. I am wanting to buy a HESI A2 study book, but I am not sure which one to go with. Does anyone have any suggestions? I saw on one thread where a lady swore by Elsevier, but I want to make sure that is a good one before I buy it. Thanks in advance.

Hey for everyone that didnt make it for summer term I have created a facebook page for the applicants for the fall term the group is

FSCJ Nursing C/O 2018 (Fall 2017 applicants)

Join the group so we can network and support each other through the process :) Anyone who knows someone that has been through the program knows you gotta network and have study buddies :)

I submitted my background check and drug screen in person! Wooo can't wait to meet you guys in orientation!

I just emailed mine, are you the full program of the Bridge? So excited!!

I also made it in and can't wait to start! Did someone start a FB page for the non-bridge applicants for Summer of 2017?

I just received my denial letter as an alternate for the Bridge..everyone took their spots. I will apply for the fall for St. John and Sante Fe bridge.

Hey everyone! I did not get accepted to FSCJ's summer term and I just wondered if any of you had any tips/advice for me. I graduated from FSU last spring with a degree in Exercise Science, I have a prerequisite GPA of ~3.75-3.80, and I scored a 90% on the HESI. Just not sure how this is adding up, but I am going to go to the information session they are having in April to see how to increase my chances of getting in if I don't get into the other program I applied to. I am very discouraged but definitely not giving up on my dreams! :)

You can always retake the HESI and take a different type of Math, Chemistry, or Humanities, ace them and get an instant boost in your scores. Applying for RN, LPN & Surgical tech programs at the same time

gives you some options plus since summer is full, there are 96 less applicants for you to compete with. There are approximately 25 more seats available this fall and this is the quickest route and retaking the HESI to get a shot at a higher score. The respiratory therapist program prerequisites are about the same as RN and they get paid about the same, less work, less stress and they have it made. When applying for LPN or Surgical Technologist programs you will have to go to the college and take a TABE test to submit with your application w/ your transcript with your highest gpa, college or high school and your HESI scores. In the fall if you are not accepted and your scores are still higher than most, hold out that first week to see if you get a call from the school in case too many decide to drop out. Hang in there are never give up even if you are feeling discouraged, remember you have come a long way and you are almost there. Good luck everyone.

Hang in there and reapply plus be mindful that it isn't too late because a spot can still open up for you

the first week of class. Don't wait around, just apply to every program you can. You have a shot for a Fall seat at FSCJ. People who don't have a shot usually end up going somewhere else and paying a lot

for a seat.

I appreciate your suggestions. Fortunately, I was accepted to USF's second bachelor's degree program beginning in the summer! :) good luck everyone!

I can't seem to find it, do you possible have the link? There were multiple 2018 pages.

Congratulations to everyone accepted into the nursing program! If one of you could please send me the new point system rubric that'd be awesome! [email protected]
