I am currently taking Microbiology and plan to apply to the FSCJ RN program for May. I understand that the deadline to apply is 2-1-2012. I have already taken the NAT and I scored 100 points out of 120 on my test run. If I retake the NAT again and score higher, will I get the highest points for each section from both attempts on the PSB?

Hey Master!
I am also a 2012 Summer Hopeful! Can't believe the time is finally almost here for me to apply. I am finishing up Microbiology as well, with a week left and averaging a "B", chances are that is what my ending grade will be. I have yet to take the NAT and hope I get a relatively good score on that, such as you did.
Now in regards to your question, I've read on other threads that your highest scores will be taken. So if you do better on certain areas your second time around, those will be accepted. Hope this helps! :)

From what I've been told, you can take the highest score from ONE test. You can not combine sections

I'm also a summer 2012 hopeful! Good luck to everyone on the NAT...hope to see you in May!
I'm also curious about combining NAT scores. I took it back in October but I can't remember my scores. Just took it again this morning and improved by a substantial amount but just want to be sure.

Hi Masterstudent...your NAT score is really good! Any info on how and what you studied for the test? I'm taking it next week...I have 103 points on my prereq so I need at least 100 on the NAT to get into the program...I HOPE.
@Wanna be an RN...I've taken the NAT and I thought it was fairly easy. It did not take me 3 hours to complete. There are 5 sections, all timed. I only studied the Allied book. Make sure you know the simple arithmetic, in the Allied book they give you mini word problems dealing with proportions, inverse proportions and ratios...know how to do these. The spelling was a little challenging but not impossible. Reading comprehension was tough because the mini passages are detailed, the questions can be tricky and you only get 20 mins. I thought the science questions were simple.
Don't be nervous, if you've done well in the prereqs then I'm confident you'll walk away from the test confident.
One other thing, I'm not 100% sure but I think this is correct...the beginning of the test states that you're not expected to answer all of the questions, however, if you skip over questions and don't answer them before the time is up then they count against you. I say this because I did this on the first section and I scored much lower than the first time I took the test...and right before time was up it told me I was missing the skipped questions but it didn't mention the questions I had not yet reached.
Good luck! Let us know how you do!
Hi lura1184....How was the NAT? I've been trying to get as much info as I can on the test....I'm taking it next week and I'm sooo very nervous. What was your score? What did you studied and anything else you can remember that was on the test?
Good Luck to you! Hope to see you in May too! :)
It looks like we posted at the same time but I put a detailed response right after your first response. I studied the Allied Health Entrance Exam. My NAT score was only a 99.2 and my classes 104 for a total of 203.2. Hoping this is enough to get in. From what I've researched, the cutoff is falling between 195-200. Last summer's was 195.8.
Good luck to you and let us know how you did! Hope to see you in May.
