I haven't found anything for spring 2014 hopefuls so I wanted to put it out there and meet any other applicants. I am currently taking chem over the summer & I am enrolled in micro for fall. I took my NAT yesterday. I will be applying in Aug for a spring start with 204.32 points. I am hoping to make it in spring rather than having to finish micro and need those points, pushing me back to summer start. Almost 2 years of pre-reqs and sweating it out, it's almost our turn to apply I am stoked!!!
Oh no that is so crazy but thank goodness she is perfectly fine now(: Yeah I understand, that's how I felt about the NICU very interesting and rewarding job, I just can't see myself doing it day after day. As for the NAT I am very nervous, I do not test well at all. I know that I know the information but as soon as the timer starts I freak out and rush myself. How did you do on NAT?
I posted but i don't see it, sorry if this is a duplicate.
I made 104.32 on the NAT. I went into it thinking this is my first chance, i'm just taking it to see what it's about and the next time will be my victory lap to do well. :) With that thought, i wasn't nervous and didn't psych myself out. I think that helped a lot. Without micro, I have 100 points for my pre-reqs. I am excited, scared, nervous and ready! We have waited so long and now it's our turn. Here we go!!!
That score on the NAT is amazing congrats(: I can only hope to make that high on it when I go to take it. How did you prepare for it? And do you remember what was on the science portion of it? I don't think you have anything to worry about your overall score is good. It is a very nerve racking wait though. I am very excited that it is finally here and that it is almost time!
Yaaaaay! I'm psyched that there is finally a board for Spring 2014 nursing hopefuls!! I've been waiting for this for what seems like forever. I'm wishing you all the best of luck! (:
Just a little (or a lot) about me, I graduated high school in 2011 and have since been working on completing all prerequisite/ general education classes listed in the nursing packet. Beginning Fall 2011, I took four classes each term excluding summer terms, and finally finished all prerequisites at the end of Fall 2012. I had every intention of applying for the nursing program for Fall 2013, but I found out in November of last year that I was expecting! (: So right now, I'm 8 months pregnant with my first child which is a girl. I took classes full time this past Spring Term just getting prerequisites for the BSN program for FSCJ out of the way, all super simple classes. My baby girl is due July 24, and I'll be taking a break from school for the rest of the year to spend time with her. I have a supportive family and an awesome partner who supports my education 100%, I am truly blessed. August 1st, however, I plan on marching my butt up to North Campus to hand-deliver my completed nursing application. I've already been CPR certified earlier this year. I cannot explain how excited I am!!!! Only you ladies can understand the anticipation!
I'm here to support every one of you, please ask me any questions at all! I took my NAT last Spring (2012) just to see what I'd make and where I could improve, no studying whatsoever, and my A&P teacher said I didn't have to take it again as it turned out I scored 101.12. I divvyed up the points for the prerequisites listed in the application and my total points are 117 (I only made a B in DEP, everything else were As). Altogether, my total points are 218.12.
I'm really interested in starting a study group in the Spring; it would mostly be for clarification purposes only. My hopes for a study group would be to remain on topic, accomplish each person's goals for that session, to be positive, professional, and gossip-free! Sorry this is such a long post, I can't contain my enthusiasm! Again, feel free to message me or ask any questions! I look forward to working with each of you (:
Hi everyone! Does anyone know where I can get or see a copy of the Nursing application? So that I can tally up my score
I'm really excited but terrified at the same time! I took my NAT test today and don't feel that I did so well . I finished my pre-reqs last semester. I'm ready to apply and can't find the nursing application online so that I can tally up my scores to see what my chances are looking like..

You can get the Nursing app from North Campus. That's where the Nursing Offices are.

Her heart stopped. We were told she had terminal heart defect. Whatever it was disappeared (prayer!) in a week. Then at 4 weeks she had pyloric stenosis (stomach muscle hardens & closes) and had emergency surgery. She's 4 now, no problems at all :)
I shadowed an occupational therapist working with special needs children. It was interesting but i couldn't see myself in that role. It seemed to be a much slower environment. Also, i want to continue to NP & i think there is more variety there than OT. There is more opportunity in mental health as an NP.
Are you nervous or excited about the NAT? I was ready, after waiting so long. I was scheduled for few weeks away but called & asked if i could come right then lol I wanted to get it over with. I was relieved afterwards. I think i have a chance to get in with my points, minus micro. I hope so, anyway. I am ready to start asap :) i take micro in the fall. I dont want to sit out a semester.
