FSCJ Nursing Fall 2016

Published

Hello everyone!

I haven't come across a thread for FSCJ Fall 2016 yet, so I wanted to make one. I know it's a little early, but I'm really excited! Who is planning on applying for this term? If anyone has gone through the process of the program already please give us advice.

Looking forward to talking with all of you and good luck!:)

Yes Im at 192.6 without micro :( really wish I had micro done in time but I am just going for it anyways. If I don't have enough to get in this semester I already have planned out to take some classes towards my BSN that I will need so I don't waste any time but I'm putting it in the hands of the universe now! we shall see! I may not sleep for the next two months... ;)

Has anyone had any trouble getting credit at FSCJ for classes transferred from another university or community college? They are taking forever to evaluate my transcripts. I took the HESI today and all I need to apply is to see if all my pre-reqs will transfer.

It took forever for me when I transferred. And a lot of classes didn't transfer as I had hopped (but I was out of state). But yes it did take some time. I don't remember how long.

Thanks. That's what I'm afraid of. I took A & P at a community college and everything else at a university for my bachelor's. They were all out of state.

Yeah I had the same thing. Dont let this discourage you because I dont know where you went, but...my A & P didnt transfer :( which really upset me at first..but I had taken it 8 years ago anyway so retaking it I think ended up benefiting me on my HESI (on the positive side) and I had a B in both before and ended up with an A this time so it worked out. I hope they transfer for you! There for a few other classes that I feel didn't transfer right (or how I wanted them to) I had thought about trying to pursue challenging it but never did.

Hello eveyone,

My name is Jeanette. I am currently finishing up the application process and will be submitting my application at the end of next week or the start of the following. So far all i gotta do is take my HESI which i am taking March 18th. i have to gather a couple of V.O.E letters for my experiance as a CNA. DO any of you know if letters of recomendation are required or accepted.? I am so excited and anxious all at the same time. I pray and Hope I get accepted for this fall. Can someone please send me the application for the RN program. Ive been looking for it online but cant find it. Im guessing from reading this thread i have to go to north campus and get it . i rather get it from someone than drive that far. Id really appreciate it guys! My email is: [email protected]

Does anyone work as a CNA right now??

I do. I have been a CNA since FEB 2012. I started in a nursing home and currently work at Baptist Medical Center.

thank you!! :)

@andielbc You said you work as a CNA. I can only afford to get my CNA at acumen. They have told me that it is florida certified course but do you think hospitals will hire me if I do it there? Or do you know anyone who has gotten hired from acumen?

@nicolemaza

I got my CNA cert from acumen in 2014. I worked at 1 nursing home and also at the VA. I know of other people that received their cert from there as well that work at Wolfson's. What they really look for is experience. They test that you take at acumen is the same test that everyone else takes. It is just given there because they have paid to be a test site. Prometric board nurses come in and test you on your skills and stuff. I did it at acumen, because it was a testing site and I was already comfortable with the environment of the room and I knew where everything was at because I was trained there. I hope this helps you. (:

Also for anyone who is interested in getting their CNA cert. Acumen has monthly drawings where you can put your name in to win a free 4 day CNA training class. I won, and it saved me $254 which was awesome. Acumen CNA Training & Testing Center its all done on their facebook page.
