I scanned the threads and didn't see one for this class set up yet. I'm applying at the end of the semester. Anyone else?
You guys shouldn't take things so personally. Melissalarey did not personally attack anyone and I have seen multiple people state the things she used as example. I graduated from the program more than a year ago and can tell you, never go on what advisors tell you, unless they are in the actual nursing office. I had one tell me that my NAT score was too low to get in, but she didn't even know how to calculate it. I had another tell me there was a wait list; you can be sure I visited her when I got in on my first try. Nursing school is stressful and you guys should be supporting each other, not going at it.
Thanks MissWhitey...I am glad you can see my point of view on this issue. And I actually went through every single posting that Squirmy did and not once did she say there weren't night and weekend classes, so obviously it couldn't have been an attack on her.
Okay. But the thing is, I've been coming to this site for over a year now to read about other people's experiences and find out what to expect. The excitement and anticipation that I read about in previous threads and in this one helped me power through the last of my prereqs and make plans for my future. And maybe some of it was misinformation, but most of it wasn't. I haven't had such good luck in contacting the program director to get questions answered - sometimes I've had to wait more than a week and send multiple emails to get a response. And I've never had anyone actually pick up the phone when I call. So I've relied on what I've read here for the most part - along with the packet and the FSCJ website. It's awesome that you're a factual person. And it's wonderful that you took the time to repost the director's answers to you so that we have correct information. Thank you. But it's still not cool that you didn't just imply but flat out said that posters mislead readers in order to benefit.
Anyway, thank you for apologizing and good luck to you, too.
Hey again, I went back through every post you did in this thread and didn't see anything about you stating there wasn't any night and weekend classes for the Spring 2011 term. So I obviously wasn't directing it to you...I just wanted you to know that...and really what I said was just a general conversation because I saw multiple postings. And I would really hope that readers wouldn't post something incorrect to benefit, but I am a female and this is a very competitive program, so all I am saying is sometimes someone's heart isn't gonna be in the best interest of people especially when they are trying to get ahead. So just keep your guard up and look out for you, that's all I am going to say. So based on your points it looks like you are in! Exciting! :)
I know that I don't need to explain myself, however, the reason I applied to FSCJ was that I was selling my Gainesville house but it hadn't sold yet. I was hoping to move to Jacksonville to live near my soon to be married daughter. I applied to Broward as a backup in case this happened (thankfully). If I had been accepted to Jacksonville, we were planning to make it our permanent residence. It turns out that we finally sold the house last week and will be closing mid-December. As far as Santa Fe goes, they only accept students once a year, so I would have to wait until next August to start. The same goes for UF. I'm middle aged, so waiting an extra year or two to get my degree really matters. At the same time, I know that everything happens for a reason. Good luck to all of you.
melissalarey: it was not a personal "attack". Yes my comment was directed to you, but I simply asked you why you were participating if you felt you weren't benefiting from the post. This is obviously more of a conversational thing than a factual thing if you haven't noticed. Just as you stated you weren't attacking squirmy when you posted your blog, I wasn't attacking you either. Now stating that I'm immature is clearly a personal attack. If anyone is immature it is you for suggesting that people on this blog were purposely posting misguided information to secure their spot in the program. Negativity is just not appreciated at such a nerve wrecking time. And that is all I will say on the subject. I am not one for grudges. (Good thing this blog is anonymous, maybe we'll end up being the best of friends and not even know it:D)
Sorry if I sounded negative, but I am looking out for myself and attemtping to look out for others by posting the factual information. If anything hopefully it helps people out in a positive way and not a negative way. My posting wasn't immature in my eyes, but that's neither here nor there. Well yeah you never know, we could end up really helping each other out. lol...thats the funny thing about life and these intense moments. Good luck again. :)
Yeah, I did say that, but on behalf of all those who want night/weekends, I'm glad I was wrong.

Hey everyone!
I applied for the Spring 2011 term. My score is higher then the cut off so I am pretty sure I made it... hopefully in less they lost my application or calculated my score wrong.. j/k that would be horrible. I am dying I can't wait any longer but I guess i have to! I am also worried about when they will do the Orientation since I will be out of town a lot during winter break....... Does anyone have any idea when it might be? They must expect people to go out of town right? Anyways if anyone has any ideas please let me know!
Thanks and good luck to everyone we are so close!
Yea I figured we wouldn't know until we get are packets but just having a general idea of when it might be is nice, thanks.
I wonder what happens if you get accepted and can't go to the orientation? I guess the rest of the letters aren't going to be mailed out until after the holiday... I am going to check today and then at least I get the day off tomorrow of stocking the post man and so does everyone else!
I guess that would make sense since they did say letters would be mailed out by DEC.1st .....I am just speculating and over analyzing everything. I guess I am just frustrated with waiting!

K-nurse: I actually got the entire schedule for the next 2 years from ****** ***** as far as the night and weekend and even daytime schedules go. She emailed me the entire schedule to my job. I have been speaking to her since the Fall of 2007. I am actually one of the people who got them to reopen the night and weekend classes at the Deerwood campus. Trust me the spring 2011 is having night & Weekend classes. The summer 2011 is only daytime though. I already posted the entire schedule on here in one of my postings. And please don't be offended, I was just trying to let people know to just don't post "facts" unless ****** tells you directly what is happening. This will save everyone a lot of time and frustration. :)
