Oh no! I am anti-FB and it is locked so I can't view it! :uhoh3:

Let me know if I miss anything important! Need to go do my physical/Drugtest/tetorifice this week!

Lol! I know what you mean about anti-FB. I was about to delete my account before this. I would make the group open but I was asked to please make it closed.

We'll work it out.

Just to completely clear the air. Today I turned in my paperwork, with JUST THE PROOF THAT I HAD GIVEN BLOOD FOR THE TITERS AND RECEIVED THE NEED VACCINES,lol. And they said that was perfectly acceptable, results can be turned in by the 29th :-)

That makes me really happy!

Picked up a book in Books A Million yesterday and am finding it very helpful. Its Saunders Student Nurse Planner 2011-2012: A Guide to Success in Nursing School. It has some very helpful tips on studying, what to expect, care plan info, assessment guides, plus a full day/month/year planner. It was around $20.

Also, remember as we finish up our last few errands and start turning in our paperwork, SAVE YOUR RECEIPTS!!! All of the stuff we had to do and turn in, along with any study guides, uniforms, books, classes, etc are tax deductible. You can also write off any undergarments, shoes, watches, and so forth as long as you can prove they are for school (Bright pink undergarments will not fly) You can do this even if you receive student loans, and it can be a huge life save as this adds up quick and will probably surpass the standard education deduction. :twocents:

Smile, we are almost there!!:lol2:

Future; Be very careful when you wash your scrubs, on every top I have ever bought from Walmart, the sleeve and bottom hem has fallen out and the pockets have developed holes very fast. I know they are very cost effective for what we are doing, but you may want to wash them on the gentle cycle at first to see how they do. Hope you have a better experience than I have.

Last one for the night, I promise (Maybe)

For all who are looking for white scrubs that are less than $21 a piece, Life Uniform (Orange Park or Regency) has Cherokee Workwear starting at $18 a piece. The pants are flare leg or regular and have petite, regular and tall. They are some of the thicker material I have found, wash well, and don't wrinkle much unless you stuff them in the bottom of a bag for a month. I have a top from them that literally soaked the entire sleeve and shoulder portion in blood and it dried. It washed out first try (with a little peroxide and cold water) with no residue or discoloration. I have also managed to get ink, iodine, developer, and makeup off of them with no problem. The top is probably 6 years old and none of the seems are frayed or worn.

You can probably find them for less online, but I would recommend stopping by to try them on. If you have never wore scrubs before, it is also good to see if you like drawstring, elastic, or combination pants and where the shirt pocket is comfortable for you. :jester:

Thanks for sharing IG. Also, First Uniform has the cherokee for around $14. They are in the building across the street from SHands, that houses Shands Employee Health. I'm not sure of the exact name of the building, but you can probably get it by googling First Uniform, 8th Street.

For those accepted into Days, please come and join the FB page FSCJ Nursing Students Class of December 2012 - Days. We can use this for discussing HW assignments, car-pooling, exams, etc. :-)

how often do you think we will have to replace these nursing shoes? that will be a factor in how much I spend.

My hospital requires ALL white as well, so I imagine you could wear them at most hospitals after you start working....I bought New Balance's at DSW, about $55

yAAAAAAy! lol, ok now that thats over with, anyone know where to get shoes cheap? Can we get Nike or New Balance white shoes as long as they're not fabric?Or do we have to get those plain nursing shoes? Also anyone else in N/W? :) COngrats all!!!:yeah::yeah:

Any type shoes that match that description they gave us, white leather or leather-like...I got New balance...I walked around the store wearing all the options trying to figure out which ones I could tolerate for long periods of standing :)
