FSCJ Fall 2010 ACCEPTED

U.S.A. Florida

Okay here we are!!!!!!

I'm having the same problem. I finally got someone on the phone this morning and Deerwood sent my appeal to North Campus yesterday even though I turned everything in 7/23. Now I'm waiting for North Campus to hopefully approve my appeal. FA needs to get a better system in place.

Guess what? They lost my appeal form!!!!!

I turned in my 1st appeal form without the acceptant letter sometime in June because the advisor told me that she will put it on the system and put it on the pending folder, so when I turn in the acceptant letter, they could just make the decission. Then when I went to turned in my acceptant letter, the same advisor told me that my appeal is not on the system, she didn't remember me, and they couldn't find my appeal form for a moment, but they finally found it on the pedding folder, I gave my acceptant letter and left. I waited for another 3 weeks and didn't see any changes on my financail aid status, so I called in, and they told me that " The system showing that I turned in my appeal form on July 22nd, but the couldn't find my paperwork, that is why my process is still pending." They said they are sorry and asked me to return the form to the specific advisor so they can expedite the process(about 2 days). It has been 2 days and my status is still pending!!!

I'm hoping to get free money from worksource over the loans from financial aid anyway. I'm getting sick of this!!!!

Here's the info for the five books we need that aren't in the box:

0803615590 (Taber's Cyclopedic Dictionary)

0135074053 (Laboratory and Diagnostic Tests)

0803623135 (RNotes)

0803623089 (Davis's Drug Guide)

1435454103 (Dosage Calculations)

We also need the i-Clicker, but I decided to wait and pick that up at the bookstore. My total for those five was $213 on Amazon Student, and free 2-day shipping!

Thanks for posting this. I guess I missed it somehow.

Sorry they have been giving you a hard time. It is really frustrating. I have been in tears a couple times trying to deal with them over the years. They are supposedly switching to some kind of new system. Not exactly sure what that means but I sure hope it gets better. Mine is showing I still need to do the loan interview but is saying they already have my promissory note. I did them both at the same time, why don't they have both? I can't get anyone on the phone either. I don't understand it but I will keep hounding them till it's done. Just remember we are fighting to make sure we have a meaningful future.

I'm with you. It has been so frusterating. I turned everything in right after I got my acceptance. I just checked my status on Friday and they finally approved my appeal. My appeal wandered from Deerwood and finally ended up at North Campus. I would have taken it there myself last month if someone would have told me. Turn everything in to North Campus. I was accepted into the Worksource program a couple of weeks ago but no one has called me to let me know what kind of FA I'll be receiving. Do I go ahead and buy my books to be reimbursed later? Hopefully orientation will answer some of this.

So, did anyone else notice that our acceptance letter doesn't say on which campus the orientation is held?

I think we can assume all events will be @ North campus except for N/W classes since the program is managed from North campus and its the health field campus for FSCJ.

What are yall planning for lunch tomorrow? Do you think we can all get through the line in the cafe or is there somewhere close by we can eat? We only have 30 mins for lunch.

Just wondering because I lost the sheet...what time is orientation tomorrow?

The orientation will start at 8:30 am tomorrow(Mon, August 16th).

See you all there!!!

she suggested getting an ipod touch. she said it was great to use for power points in class since you're not allowed to have your phone out.

meltnpointofwax, Thanks for the info. How is the ipod touch used for power points? I must be missing the obvious.

Anyone that lives in the San Pablo, intercoastal area, I was thinking maybe we should try to sit near each other at orientation and try to bid on same section so we can form study groups and maybe car pool. Let me know if you are interested.

Me too!

FSCJ requires 2000 hours(one year) experience with the ADN for acceptance into their BSN program.W

Students should also be aware that the FSCJ BSN program emphasizes critical care nursing - perfect if that is what you want to do:
